Car Damage...

Featured Replies

I got home from lunch today and noticed some damage done to my car (1991 Isusu Rodeo, Metal Body thank God). It looks as if someone took a bat or something similar to it, and whacked at it a few times. There are dents, paint damage, and noticeable scratches to both of the Driver's side doors. It may have only been a few whacks or whatever, but I am pissed. There are the couple of neighborhood kids that think they are 'cool' or whatnot, so we do have suspects I guess; although no real evidence to who did it. Is there anything I could do to get the damage fixed without it coming out of my families pockets? Or do I live with it? I can try to post pictures later, though it isn't the worst damage in the world, it's noticeable, and it's the whole principle of the thing... :? Should I try getting back at these kids, or leave it be? Gahh...

Insurance?

Insurance would be a bad thing. I'm 16, the rates will go up. Insurance for a 16 year old male who has never had any claims is already ridiculously high. :(

Gah, too many eSurance commericals lately...anyway shouldn't you have car insurrance? I believe you can't drive without it in the US. Still, you should start a invistigation and get these kids back.

You can take the inside panel off, so you see the bare metal and try to do some panel beating and pop those dents out. Rubber mallet and possible a towel to pop them out. If it's just on doors they're easy enough to get to.

Call the police, get a crime number then claim off insurance. With any luck your excess wont go up on your insurance if they see its not ure fault.

Wishful thinking there. :P

A dude smashed into my car, 100% not my fault, and my premium STILL went up...Though, surprisingly, it was very very little...Not even noticable, really.

Insurance companies shaft everyone, sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and pay it out.

If you don't want your insurance claims to go up, just leave it the way it is and try to make the best of it.

Find out who did it, tell him to meet you somewhere, and when he gets there, have a few friends come with knives, and scare him until he cries. People who do things like that need to be punished. Just make sure you actually don't hurt him, or else you would get into trouble.

The only problem with that plan is that he said he doesn't know who did it. He has a few suspects, but no way to prove it was any of them.

Threatening someone with a knife is a criminal offence and you can go to jail for it. Let the police handle it.

I'm guessing you've only got 3rd party insurance? Thats all thats required by law where I live anyway.

If all your suspects are the sort of people who have done other bad things, things up something bad but non-illegal to do to them. They likely deserve it anyway.

Or just dont get caught. Maybe launching a firework through their back door, and run away quickly

Dont actually do that, though if you do, please post pictures!

I have to get practically naked when I'm cooking bacon.

I may be immature, but that made me laugh!

Just try to fix it, like someone suggested with the rubber mallet to pop out the dents. If it happens again, i'd try the police...in the meanwhile, keep and eye on who you suspect done it....or buy an air rifle and go practise your shooting at their parents tyres/paintwork. Or even better...break-fluid over the paintwork, thats always good

Revenge is sweet :boohoo:

I bought a portable CCTV recorder which just looks like the alarm and stuck it on my windscreen. Caught 2 little bastards scratching my bonet with stones, showed the footage to the police and this NEDS got done by the police for vandilism.

If you want to prevent this in the future park in a garage or drive-way or use CCTV, wont really prevent it but you can catch the people who done it.
