ugafan_2009
Pk'ing CAN be profitable. Now it usually isn't, I personally have lost millions doing it. But it's fun. If have have 2m gp to spend, I usually do it on pk supplies instead of skills. It's where I have fun in the game. Edge pk'ing in rune/whip is generally a waste. However, you can make a lot of money going deep in the wild in a place such as mage bank. Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651
Yaz
Pkers don't make money by killing the occasional noob who walks into the wild. They make money by killing less skilled pkers, the less skilled pkers kill even less skilled pkers and those are the ones who tend to lose the money. Also, Pking is very diferent to making money other ways, it actually requires more than a monkey pushing a button. Clicking a rock, a sparkly spot of water or a log and knife 50,000 times each takes no skills, it's pure idiocy.
Gugge
I just wanted to say thankyou for a well written post Sevenphotos :) You are absoulutly correct that no resources are generated during pking, only consumed and redistributed. I dont have much to say on the subject of pking, since it simply doest't suit my personallity to pk. Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)
blosssom2581
there is no rule in Wildy. Nor there is any honor, code, agreement, or whatever there. If you love its lawlessness nature, you'll love it. If you hate that (like me) you'll dislike wildy. You do earn by successfully PK a rich guy, but I think you feel happier by creating wealth via your hard effort. I don't think PKers worth getting rich as the effort is too small. (This is my opinion ONLY. Don't start a flame war! Everyone has his/her unique opinion) Currently taking a break from Runescape
Docl
On a decent f2p pure, with an experienced pker, you can make upwards of a mill a short amount of time in scims and 2hs. IcoolstoneI is a perfect example.
toolskies
what i dont get is all of the low level "pkers".. i mean what is so fun about wearing black weaps, set of iron, begging people trying to fish at barb village for free food and hitting a max of what..10?? i dont mind testing my skills that ive worked hard for against another person...its good fun and gets ur heart pounding a little bit but a true pker should always be able to make make their money back easy now playing on l0wer cla55 =D (yes i like that name too)
schmuall
The poster has made one (false) assumption. That everyone who goes into the wildy is there to fight. As this is not the case, the odds are not (as implied) 50:50. So you CAN make a profit from pking. give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
silver24-7
I pk for fun and for money, and believe me... If you know what you're doing you can sure as hell make plenty of money!!! And that's without scamming luring or other sophisticated ways to get better results at pking, if I'd include those I'd have to say it's one of the very best ways to make loads of money ;) I'm Finally 99 mage ^^ (and cooking...) :PSilver24-7 -
jondea0
skill isnt that much of a part of pking, my friend has pked 2m+ of items inc a whip (dont go "0mg0rz 1 4v pk3d m0r3 den d4t" cos i dont care) and i am quite alot better than him , the biggest pk ive had is....... a rune axe, wonderfully profitable. discuss a combat reformation
Pyrex
I lost my pking stats long ago, but before I stopped it I actually enjoyed DYING! I mean people were polite and sometimes the pkers even gave some of the stuff back, but kept the bigger part of it. I mean I go pk with full rune and r2h (there was no weapon speed in rsc) and I fight a pker. We both stay polite and talk about nice stuff within the 3 rounds of nothing, but hitting and then either one dies. I admit, I died a lot more often than I won, but I felt good for dying against a good person and everytime I died I went to edgeville to wait for the pker to appear and continue chatting. Sometimes I get the helmet, sometimes the r2h or sometimes even the plate. Of course sometimes I get nothing back, but that doesn't feel too bad thinking I could have lost it in a lot worse way. I admit sometimes I met people who were annoying, but the chances for that was like 1/50. I would rather lose hundreds of millions in the old RSC wilderness than lose 50K in the current state of wilderness where the other guy pummels you with insults and in the end say "Awww... GF u tried". RetiredEx-E174Ex-Venqeance[Ex-Tha Familia3]

Brendan3792
If you go out and get all the items yourself, you'll make some money. Why, I myself pk'd myself a Dragon Axe yesterday. 0 money spent, 3M made (Although I didn't sell it).
PastyGangsta
Pking is dumb, train some REAL skills like WC, Fishing, Crafting, and Fletching. 8-)
InkofDeath
This is only aplieing to p2p pking. P2p pking is a lost cause in profits, however not so much f2p pking. I'm a pure range/r2h and I've made 2.1mill in profit just last week, probably my biggest profit made. Though this isn't the first time I've made it into the millions. Anyways, f2p pking you can and usually end up making good money if you know what your doing, know when to stop pking, and then go back at it, know what to spend your money on, and how much of it.
