Quest cape Requirments up again?

Featured Replies

It's not really attacking pures, they're attacking themselves; they chose to neglect certain skills, so they chose to be excluded from a majority of updates (per Andrew, first page).

Besides, even with these new quest requirements, the Quest Point cape falls way short of an Achievement Cape in terms of total experience. Last I checked it was around 6 million experience to earn one. If people don't like that, they can earn the other 7 million and get a cape that won't unequip every time they login on a quest update.

(I know I don't have any 99s, but I still have my Fire Cape.)

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

Yeh I think Jagex is having a little dig at Pures but they do have a good excuse as lots of players want/wanted high level updates and you can see over the lat three or four Quests that the requirements are getting higher.

I've never really been a fan of pures, but it seems like Jagex is raising the bar. I just hope that people will step up to the challenge.

Jagex is finally starting to get the picture, and they are correcting it one update at a time.. =D>

Jagex needs to compesate pures somehow! The best way I can see and more reasonable

is they make choosable the exp rewards of all quests  So the pures can do more quests :D

if jagex hated pures they would create an easy quest that requires 85 defence and the rewards would be a sword thats as good as a dragon long and the special would cut the opponents strength in half until they were killed and you can use it 6 times (to prevent them potting) and a shield that negated the effect of the sword (85 defence required though) so jagex doesnt hate pures, they just love us balanced fighters more!

If Jagex kills pures, I'm happy. It will kill some of the arguement over pures...

I'm all for making pures extinct (at least the obnoxious rude ones).

WHOS WITH ME??

me me me me MEEEEe pick me! its me! me! over here!

The quest cape isn't itended for pures, and I don't think Jagex ever intended that. It is clearly a cape of balance, showing that you've got a cape by doing hundreds of strange tasks killing random beasts and scrawling Runescape to find even the most obscure treasure.

That's right.

Quests are designed to use the full spectrum of skills. What has been the case in the past is that Jagex have tried to use monster levels ("Muse be able to kill a level 120") to define combat skill requirements. That obviously hasn't worked in various cases, so they have now begun to put actual level requirements on.

Doesn't affect me directly ... but I think it is good for the overall game.

WARNING: Prone to ramble ... but you probably already know that!

That's crazy. I see so many people under lvl 100 with those capes, I even saw a lvl 82 once I think. So many of those players have high skills it's crazy.

I love how you need 55 def to use the level 60 prayer, when you need 65 def to do the quest that unlocks it

Me and my friend were discussing how about that!

Highly Illogical but w/e; it's their game.

Maybe if your level gets lowered from the ice lands or beer or something, you can't use it unless your "current" level is 55, not your base?

Barley rarley your defense falls it's most attack that beers lower. But useful update none the less.

[/hide]

It's probably like that because certain things lower's stats.. For example Crystal Bow.. 56 Agility to do Regicide then Roving Elves.. But 50 to weild bow.. maybe cause certain things (Karils Special) lowers def, therefore you cant weild the Cbow after you go below 50 agil..

So basically if you have enough def levels to do the quest, and you your def gets drained.. by say a D Baxe spec, you cant use the prayer then..

Before bringing out a new Quest, Jagex will always try and look for new requirements for a Quest, so that things don't overlap and become repetitive.

So, with the latest Quest that's come out is just simply a coincidence. There was bound to be a Quest which required a high level of Defence, and unfortunately for Pures, it's come at this time.

Not a lot they can do about it, because Jagex wanted to balanced the Game out with the Quest requirements and have done so.

I would guess Players who refuse to train their Defence level to 65 will not be able to do the Quest, and just the way it goes. So, they'll miss out on the Quest, and furthermore, lose the ability of the Quest Cape.

Fair or unfair? Well, that's another discussion :o.

I think it was the court case that required 65 def. Maybe you can pot for that and complete the quest with 55 def?

The quest cape is supposed to be woren by those great players who defeated all those hard quests. I don't want to see a lvl 75 that has done legends(before Dream mentor) It's stupid. I want to see as 95+ with a quest cape best quest are supposed to be hard.

but people who are lvl 85 USUAly have 65 defence...

erm, not really...i know people at 80 or 81 cmb with 70 def, and im 85 cmb with 60...none of us (meaning my friends and i) are pure, but def lvls do fluctuate, naturally...

everyone is saying how these prayers are anti-pure because of the high prayer and defense reqs, but, though some people dont consider it truely 'pure', there are many accounts created as pkers with 70 def. either simply having a higher defense helps, or they pk wearing torags/etc, they are out there. they probably dont have 60-70 prayer, but, of course, i would consider an acc with 70ish def and 60-70 prayer as unpure...

anyways, some 'barrows pures' might try to get the new prayers, but that would seriously mess up the very point of being pure...
