In times gone by, i haven't had any real interest or involvment with bannings. However recently i have become personally affected with it (see post here)

 

 

 

Anyway i'd just like to hear of any stories the people of personal bannings and then (possibly) unbannings.

Sort of. I saw a story of a tifer who got reported and muted for ruining a player's method of money making, and appealed it and got the mod's crown taken away. I'd tell more but I don't care.

Jagex don't seem to take much pity on banned players :o

i was wrongly banned once, i was in lumby when i get the old "pm password scam" someone pms me saying he's a mod and i had won a prize and he only needed my pass to log into my account and add the prize. well, i wasn't stupid enough to fall for it, reported him for password scamming, and went on with my day.

 

 

 

a few days later i get a message from jagex "you will be happy to learn that we have taken action against the player you reported" and then not a few hours later, my account was disabled and i have another message, "you have been permanently banned for password scamming." #-o

 

 

 

they accidentally banned ME instead of the person i reported. i sent in a ban appeal and the next day i had my account back and an extensive apology message in my inbox :P

my best rl friend is rich and would always give me like 500k or something to stop what i was doing and like go pk with him or something. did that once or twice on my main and pure, got banned for rl trading, 4 messages sent in, all denied with auto responses

My first every offence was website advertising, I was advertising my clan website and yeah I got reported, and I accepted that I was in the wrong.

 

 

 

Then 8 months later I get 4 emails in my inbox.

 

Three of them had said that I had made an offence and I should go check it out.

 

The last one said that the status of my account had changed.

 

 

 

I went to check it out and I saw I had three extra offences.

 

 

 

Two were for offensive language while the third was for website advertising.

 

I checked out the one for advertising first. At first I could not find how I was advertising the website and so I re read it out loud. I then realised I had mentioned the word "zybez". So im like what on earth! How can they report me for that, it ain't no URL it's the name of a website. It's just like saying tip.it! or HYT! So I sent an appeal in mentioning this and I got auto replied(thanks jagex for been a bloody selfish not enough time! noobs!)

 

 

 

I knew I could not win the offensive language offences as one said "fking" and the other I was spamming on. But I still used these to point out the advertising offence as it is not just! But anyway this was really recent. I've now decided to try out macro's and stuff on my perm mute account to see how they work and in what way's they can be prevented.

 

 

 

Anyway that's my story.

recently, my friend was permanently banned for saying he could see a guys nads under his dwarven shorts. He appelaed and is on his last chance. I got two counts of offensive language for saying that, when somebody asked what something meant, i said, "It means your gay!". I appealed that saying it was a joke, that all jokes offend somebody, and most teenagers (the minimum age to play being 13, obviously), and it is now pending. the other one Im not sure about, it could have been spamming (i only did a little, not flooding the box), but it was probably because i said that sharks were better than banging your mom. It is appealble, but i have no idea how to explain that lol. my only 2 offences ever and i have 0.6 blackmarks.

"Noob" not offensive. "(B)ich" not offensive. Jagex = mothering sons of a [bleep] who will do anything to grab a few extra coins from under 13 year olds. Will send automated messages due to extensive laziness and their obsession with adding TOO many unessecery updates.

 

 

 

Been banned/muter and what not, all given appeals all been rejected with incorrect automated messages. Example I got muted for offensive language. I appealed and got the "persistant rule breaker" message...

 

 

 

Andrew and Paul should be lined up at shot for letting the game become what it has.

One of them is for saying 'Michael Jackson'. What is wrong with that? I wasn't protraying him in a negative or positive light. All I said was, JAGeX could have copied that dance from Michael Jackson *pointing to the Zombie Dance emote*.

I got a blackmark for calling someone a lazy bum cause he wouldnt go to barbarian village to get a free bronze pic, also there were some starred letters that had nothing bad in it and I got in trouble.

 

 

 

Another time was when I was making yo moma jokes cause I was feeling so confortable and jolly with the people on catherby that I started talking like I do on msn messenger and said the F word..bad mistake...I also appealed one stupid one and it got removed luckily. 0.9 blackmarks here.

 

 

 

I'm a better person now though, but I don't really talk with people as much cause jagex likes to make you overcautious about their rules. It's dumb sometimes but I understand. I don't curse as much as I did before cause of runescape tbh=s.

Every time i get onto one of these topics about false bannings they always give the same story, "I wasn't on that time, someone must of hacked me".

1. too bad too sad, should have had a longer pass

 

2. If u got hacked, it was your fault

 

3. Jagex made hacking fool proof, don't be stupid and ignore it (pass,recovery,pin...etc)

 

4. Right, its your word against jagex, at least they have a statistical proof.

 

5. 10\10 blk marks, and they don't give blk marks at 5 points, or more intervals, chances are that you might of caused at least 1 of those blk marks. They have the right to ban u from the begining just for breaking that rule.

 

6. They feel sry for u, wasting time on this game and then getting banned, in truth they* are helping the greater good, taking u out of the game causes less problems for future players, they won't get the idea to scam, curse, and etc.

 

7. And after this you tell me u have reasons for everyone of these answers, then I feel sry for you, cuz i already won the argument.

Never feel comfortable with people, cause they are reporting noobs. I never report unless its a bot, scam, password scam, or if they are really just cursing at me. People shouldn't report as often as they do. It's 13+ for a reason, words like gay, or at least homosexual, should not be censored. Neither should suck.
