jscinoz
In reply to warrierlord9, The loading times wouldn't be too bad actually, I tested the Wurm Online game on a modestly spec'd machine (1.8ghz processor, 256mb ram, on-board graphics, running Ubuntu 7.04) and it only took about 5 minutes the first time (including install from Java Web Start) and only about 30 secs from clicking the icon to being in game, each time after that. The great thing about Java and OpenGL applications is that they have a relatively low memory footprint, and very streamlined rendering engine, thus running decently on low powered machines. The Observer
This would be nice but RuneScape is labeled as a low-memory browser-based game. It lags as it is.
TaRdRe
Wow I would love to play Runescape if it looked like that. Very nicely done, I hope RS will eventually look like that. 85 Mining - 85 Smithing - 85 Slayer
berbatovsky
Funny if Jagex did use AA's map editor to make a 3d Runescape FPS, although the lawsuit would be a pain.
Prankster_King
It's a shame that Runescape couldn't be like this. The graphics are could use a little work, but they're amazing nonetheless. Imagine pking, and castlewars... :XD: [bleep], my parrot has better grammar than you.{Author of Tip.It Times article}{Founder of the F2P Bankspace Campaign}{Interviewed for the Gielinor Tribune}{F2P Bankspace was ACHIEVED!}

spikerkid
Someday, ohh someday. Quit RuneScape :)
Dharockslayer
How many people have quit this game because it takes over their life? Way less then 1% of the real players. What the hell is the point of detailing something like this? Maybe because he likes to do something other then check forums and Runescape and feels like creating something when hes online. Maybe he finds it fun to create 3d enviroments. Instead of mindless clicking on rocks or whatever. And people have to socialise to have a "life" because of the simple fact that life will not begin with RuneScape and will not end with RuneScape therefore have an experience of a good social life and a good gaming life.I agree, but however this is a Runescape forum, its not to us to judge if they have a bad social life. If you want to talk about your life or other things happening in real life you might want to post in Off-Topic. But not in General Discussion about Runescape. Im not saying don't socialize but have fun. Im saying that Im sick of people saying that Runescape takes over everyones minds. Most of the players play in their free time and with moderation. Very few actually get obsessed. Its a stereotype I see allot in games. Everybody who plays it automaticly someday becomes obsessed with it and have to quit. If it was that way it would be illegal. No doubt. I think we have discussed this enough for now, you have said your points and I clarified mine. There is no point in continiueing from now on. Thanks for a good discussion though, its always more fun to have someone to back up his opinion with good arguments, then to have someone saying "Yeah, you're right". Respecting you, I am.
