meol
Ok, I am going from 5th to 6th grade And I need help on how to survive it. It's a garentee I'm going into tag (tallented and gifted) And I need to know how to survive it. If you are sure to be talented and gifted, please, for your own sake, never brag about it. It won't do any good to you. This signature is intentionally left blank.

nyyankees588
Well its really not that bad. Get to know some of the upperclassmen though it will help. I guess I really can't say much since I went to private middle school. The only thing we had their was lots of clicky girls and guys who bought burbary (sp) ties just to say they had them. bartoron
I'm honestly shocked that this thread is still active. :-s Middle school is nothing to worry about. All of your main classes are right next to each other. You have plenty of time to get books from your locker in-between classes. You'll still get to see all of your friends at lunch and you can still go outside for recess. There are no bullies. No one is going to stuff you in a locker or push you over. That being said, there are a few things you should try to do. First, try to become friends with lots of people. If your middle school is made up of people from multiple elementary schools, get to know the kids who went to the other elementary school(s). They're not scary or anything, the only difference is that they went to a different elementary school. Second, don't be scared of girls. They're not going to laugh at you all day and make fun of you. Only some of them are monsters. :-s
kido14
Why are you afraid or nervous of middle school? Anyways just try to remember all of your classmates are probably going through the same thing. Everyone is too busy worrying about themselves to notice anything wrong with you Last.fm: http://www.last.fm/user/Aaronm14/MY FAVORITE BAND:http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=64310717And the bible is the big book of lies, call me a racist if you must. runescape_rocks
runescape_rocks, what weights for classes do you have that allow you to get a 4.2? In my school, I've seen plenty of 4.1's but no 4.2's. AP classes. In my school, they count an A in an AP class as a 5. I took 3 my sophmore year and 3 my junior year. And also, I in no way contradicted myself ever in my posts. Don't study =/= Don't study for tests. Understand guys? I'll elaborate just a bit on what I want him to study. OP, please study things you are interested in. Again, I don't want anyone to take offense or to take pleasure in attemping to flame me. So please, if you want to flame me, do it by pm. AP classes are 6 for us I think.. 4 for regular A 5 for honors A, 6 for AP. Oh and we can't take APs until we are juniors. Where do you live? Rebdragon
Geez, what's with all the GPA padding on this thread. For me, regular classes max at 4, honors classes max at 4, and AP classes max at, well, 4. I mean, c'mon, a 6 point grading scale for AP classes? Do you really think it's that hard, to need a 50% grade boost? I mean, that's literally the same thing as turning a barely failing grade to a grade beyond a hundred percent! (69%-> 103.5% -__-".) Schools have gotten kind of pathetic when it comes to getting students into good colleges -_-. I mean, there's a public school system in my area (where the average kid isn't exactly...er, smart), and over half of the kids at the school have GPA's of 3.5+, which is down-right hilarious to stay the least... azntemplar_00
Seriously, 5 max for honors and 6 for APs? No wonder your GPAs are that high. For me, since only 'honors' (we don't even refer to them as anything out of the ordinary) are the bare-minimum that you take, you don't get any weight for 'em. APs get a 0.5 weight tacked onto the 4.0 scale. I've only taken 3 APs so far, 2 B+'s and an A.

Well its for "QPA" for us where honors is 5 AP 6, and GPA 4 for A no matter what the thing is, but I think people often mix them up. I don't know, the whole system realllly confuses me. barnstormers
Hey Middle School ain't that bad, I'm in my last year of it, i'm going into 8th grade, and i'm actually supposed to be in 7th grade since i just turned 13. The first week is always the hardest since that is the first time you actually have to memorize your schedule. But don't worry, it's not bad at, all, i think it's more fun than elementry school. Thanks to Hardwick246 for the sig

champion
The one thing to really remember for middle school is to stay organized. It's a pain to leave stuff at school and get a 0 on a project But I had a 4.0 it was all good : And one way to meet friends is to have a sense of humor. Also, don't be afraid to talk to people. Most importantly have fun, 6th grade was easy for me just by having a positive attitude! I honestly don't think you'll need it, but good luck! :D
