My name is Joe, I am currently going into my freshman year at my towns high school. I am turning 15 on September 27th am 5,9 and weigh 175lbs. I don't know or care if that is average weight, over weight or under weight, I THINK I AM BIG. I'm not going to be shy, I have stretch marks pretty bad. I have man boobs somewhat and I'd LOVE to loose a few lbs. I am going to try to eat healthy and go for runs. I am going to keep a log of all the exercise I get daily and what I eat daily. I start school in 5 days and although I can't loose much in that amount of time, I want to start a little thinner. So, if you'd like to give me your support please do! Also, if you have any suggestions about what I can do to loose weight or something to eat that is good and good for me please tell me! All I ask is please don't "make fun" of me or suggest that I go to a gym or get a personal trainer because neither of those are possible, and the only exercise equipment I have is two arm curls with 30lbs on each. Tbfgraphx14 Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 This site has tons of ab work outs and meal plans and even an activity calculator where you punch in the activity, amount of time doing it, and your weight and it will tell you how many calories you will burn. http://www.iwantsixpackabs.com It's not a scam or anything, it's run by this guy who lost 14% body fat in 16 weeks =D> I personally don't follow his plan, I just like the tips the site offers. You might have to signup to get the charts and such I am not sure. It is free and they don't spam your email at all :) I am trying to loose weight at the moment, and I just do a mix up everything. Be sure to include stretching or you could pull something I think. Usally for abs I do 100 Air bicycles and 100 Sit ups. And are you sure you don't just have pecs :P ? Its not proven, but they say eating late is bad for you, i go off the assumption that eating and than going to sleep shortly after is bad for you. Or eating (somthing bad for you) and not doing anything physical after to work a lil bit of it off, is bad for you. If you go for runs, make sure they are runs, or fast walks, or what id suggest a jog. And for it to actually work you have to maintain a faster pace than your normal walking speed for over 45 minutes before you start to actually burn calories. (In other words, this is kind of workout is called Cardio) DONT drink soda, drink water, water water water, maybe some milk here and there, juices, but no soda or sugar filled calorie filled beverages. Watch what *extras* you put on stuff, like mayonayse on a sandwhich. and remember just because somthing is fat free or whatever, doesnt mean it didnt supplement that *fat free* portion with other garbage (Like diet sodas. they are just as bad as regular sodas) if you are a *big* dude, than check this out. Wanna build that bulk into muscle? Get some weights or whatever, and go by this. More weight, less reps= makes you bigger Lighter weight, more reps = Tones your body So if your a big guy, id get some weights, do less weight more reps, turn that big guy stuff into muscle and tone it up. im a big guy, its what i do and it is showing results. (I just need to do it regularly!) And also, if you got a floppy uperbody, do pushups. check this out bro. I couldnt do a pushup, i started out with Bit*h pushups, (like, on ur knees doing them, instead of on your toes). a few weeks later and im doing sets of 10. so do some pushups REGULARLY! as in every morning, try to do 3 sets of 10, and in a month or two, sets of 20. gradualy scale up the ammount you do and maybe even the sets. id also suggest situps, do the same ammount as pushups. and depending on what you wanted to work on on your uperbody, is depending on what type of pushup you should do. Dropping your arms sideways will work on diffrent areas as opposed to dropping inward. do some of each, why not? Once you can do regular pushups (or if you already can) you should move on to verticles, throw your feet on somthing to elevate you, and than do them. I am that height and weight and can only do 20 reps of 20, and yes I think I am overweight, I want to at least get rid of my man boobs, what gets rid of those? I want to speed up my metabolism but I never knew how!! THANK YOU! These are the tips I need! Small things like this that will make a big difference. And to the person who suggested plastic surgery. In terms of eating, like i said, just eat very small portions but like 7 times a day and it will help speed up your motabolism, tuna (Without additives like mayo or whatever) is actually good for you, like eat a can, no bread, just the tuna. i forget what u could mix with it that doesnt effect the health value of it too much. but ya tuna works. but ya eat small, but often, speeds up motabolism, fast motabolism = burns more calories quicker. flying_death_bombs55 Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 Im chubby and I have stretch marks from when I was younger(I used to be bigger(they wont go away, grrrr)), but im around 5'5 - 5'7 and im 150 pounds, normal weight(maybe about 2-3 pounds over but I have muscle also). Edit: Drinking apple juice makes you digest foods faster(not like prune juice where it gushes out like a fountain(a broken fountain)), at least for me it does.(or maybe I just have really strong stomach acid...) Ps: I used too many "( )"s When you mentioned the Dragon Plates I had a sudden vision of a load of gangsters running around in fancy dress yealling "Grim Reaper in da hood!" If you cannot do the pushups well without strain, try the putting your legs on something about 2 feet up or do "female pushups" with your knees on the ground but do many of those. martinisback Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 Well, if you're SERIOUS about losing weight then I have one suggestion: Weight Watchers -> Moms been on it since Mid May, lost 22-25 pounds so far, the first week you lose like 3-4 pounds, then its like 1-2. Trust me, it WORKS. It cost about 165 $ for 3-4 months, and then you can do it on your own its just basically eating healthy, they'll teach you, and it'll easily get you down to about 160 by November-Mid October. Btw my moms about 50, so its pretty hard for her to lose that much and she did it, if your 15, you can do probably more! What is your reason for wanting to lose weight? What kind of short term and long term goals are you aiming for? What kind of goal figure would be reasonably obtainable and achievable for you? What is the goal you want to work on today / right now? How do you think you can achieve this? What do you think is a reasonable time frame for this? Just a bit of homework for you - If you're serious about it 8-) You don't need to answer on this page if you don't want to :D The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.
