has anyone noticed this in the past few (hundred) updates. There has been a shift to a newer much more powerful and elite equipment. It used to be Barrows, crystal sheild, and a wep was the best and nobody argued. Now the the best of the best has hit a new best (lots of best)

 

 

 

the new ulitmate armor seems to be dragonfire shield, godsword, and 3rd age armor (dhelm, I didnt look at that)

 

 

 

before barrows it was dragon, before dragon it was rune. Does anyone think this will continue up until jagex nerfs the entire system (ok, this weeks update. all stats will now be /10, have fun!)

 

 

 

And, also. Does anyone think the price of dragon will continue down to the point that is as common as rune, and the 3rd age goes down to the point of dragon.

Yes, well they have to add something more powerful than something else when necessary so that they can keep players, more notably the veteran ones, interested.

Dragon can't get as common as rune as it can't be smithed and is not dropped as often. There are also still dragon updates (such as the boots).

 

 

 

I wish there were updates on existing abandoned places such as Isafdar. The empty city Prifddinas could be finally finished). I'm getting a bit sick of dungeons...

Third Age and Dragon will never drop so dramatically in price, Rune is extremely common because the whole set is easily obtained from smithing and common monster drops. Dragon is a really rare drop from high level monsters which is why the prices don't drop too dramatically and fast. Third Age is an extremely rare reward from level 3 clues. Which makes it so theres very little entering the game + economy. But it will become less common among people (less people wearing it) because better and cheaper items will be made.

Most online games eventually suffer from this "gear inflation".

 

 

 

Players want better rewards as they level up and become more capable.

 

If the game developer didn't set higher goals then the game

 

would die as players max out, get bored, and quit.

My bet is that Jagex will raise the Hit Point cap from 99 to ...

i havent seen high level stuff yet.

 

 

 

 

 

i guess id consider people with half the exp in meleee stats a "high" level warrior. lvl 92 in melee stats. and then i figure, 60 prayer to top that off is relevant. so 113 combat i would figure is the normal persons high lvl.

 

 

 

 

 

and 80ish for skills like smithing.

It's true that dragon drops are rare and that it's far easier to make rune. But after awhile dragon will become more and more avaiable just because its been out for awhile. And I bet the price will continue to go down...

Yes but you forgot the fact that the armor is rarely taken out of the economy, When ever you get pked with rune, theres another guy to pick it up. Or if you quit rs, you probably might sell it/give it. So therefor, there is a MUCH higher number of rune entering the game then leaving. So therefor the price will lower, Same with dragon and 3rd age. How ever for these it will take MUCH more time, but it WILL continue to get cheaper and cheaper and some day dragon will cost 200k for a full set of dragon. However it wont be any different from now, cause it will be this generation's rune. which by then they will introduce loads of better armor, and the next best armor will be equlivant to this age's 3a.

I remember when chains were 55M each. Also Rune 2h's at 4M :)

I think this is the end of the line. Jagex will not release this much high level equipment again probably.

 

 

 

Atleast this means cheaper equipment for the cheap people like me 8-)

lest we not forget the days of when adamantite was the best and elite, when there was no rune

But there are always more players comming into the game. The number or rune sets comming into the economy is about equal to the number of players wanting rune sets.

Technically I think the def cape can be considered a 99 defense armor.

 

 

 

I also believe that it all depends on HOW the item enters. Dragon only comes from drops, so the price control will go down, but very steadily.
