Korskin
But can you really blame someone who wants to share with others the greatest thing he's ever found? This is not a matter of "Hey son/daughter check out this cool thing I found." This is a matter of "Hey son/daughter check out this cool thing I found. I want you to destroy yours and use mine instead." I don't think the intention is to shove your own beliefs down someone's throat. It's more an intent to share a good thing that you're convinced would make other people happy. Then of course that intention might be interpreted like you said: "I want you to destroy yours and use mine instead." That's why I'm not sure if it's always the best thing to do. StrOwez
Thanks to the mods for keeping this open, as I can see the temptation to lock it. goldphishies
I agree with most of your points.... well, all, actually. But wait, an argument! When babies or people die that never had the chance to know him, don't they go to heaven? So that baby born with AIDS theoretically goes to paradise. So do the people with Down's Syndrome. But it's still pretty unbalanced, like those tribes in the rainforests and stuff who will (theoretically) go to Hell simply because they don't know about civilization. That just seems pretty cruel to me... I prefer to watch all of this from a spectators point, listening to each sides arguments before forming an opinion... but now, I'm leaning towards "is there really a God?" Well, there's my 2 cents... And something else to think about... If we're all God's children, what's so special about Jesus? :? Guest
+1, the fact that christianity cant be proved and evolution can, someone needs to whack them selves with a PWNED stick. + 1?! A PWNED Stick?!! The General Board is calling, you don't belong on Off Topic. And no evolution can't be proved, it hasn't and there's no evidence saying it can be. And therefore its not a fact, and no I'm not trying to say that Christianity is a fact. Its a religious belief, atleast Christians don't get mixed up with the difference between a fact and a theory, unlike most believers of evolution out there. navyplaya
I admit that was an immature post by me, but obiously you didn't read my others. The evolution of mankind can not be proved, but each year, with each new strain of the common cold virus, evolution is proved. So school is calling, you dont belong on the internet. -All sigs by me.[My Gallery]

Guest
So school is calling, you dont belong on the internet. Haha that makes your pathetic "+1 pwned stick" comment even more of a joke. By inferring that its a mockery that I'm still at school, its you ironically coming up with the immature, and not funny comments. You've insulted yourself even more. Its a religious belief, atleast Christians don't get mixed up with the difference between a fact and a theory, unlike most believers of evolution out there. Evolution can be proved, and it has been because there is evidence. The theoretical aspects still remain just like the theoretical aspects of the movement of celestial bodies, but no one doubts the factual nature of the earth revolving around the sun because of the overwhelming and one sided evidence. I'll be happy to provide an example of said evidence to demonstrate why many scientists consider common ancestry as fact. It's important to realise that facts are not only found in the form of raw data. Evidence can allude to unknown or not so immediately evident facts. At one point in time, it seemed rediculous to many that the earth revolved around the sun. Today, this is evident to the extent which it is called a fact, and we move on to bigger and better things. I'd personally not go so far as to call common ancestry fact, although many scientists do. I don't have the knowlege or access to the evidence and tests they do, obviously. Guest
difference between a fact and a theory Seriously. Read other people's replies before you post. I did, and I've read many more evolutionary topics on these boards than you. I know the replies people have, and I know the assumed view by many of the evolutionist on these boards that its a fact not a theory. And yes I was stereotyping, as its the majority who have the views I stereotyped - not the minority. So give up, before you make yourself out to be more of a fool. Guest
Warrior just because there's evidence out there to say that there's aspects of life in which if it were true that evolution were true they could fit in and make sense. That doesn't mean that the many variables out there which haven't been proved of evolution are discounted and therefore don't come into consideration when making the decision whether or not humans evolving from monkeys itself is fact. I have no problem with other forms of evolution occurring (mutating virus etc - well whatever examples you may give) but that's no solid evidence of the theory that humans were once monkeys. No one was around there and no ones got hard evidence to state that humans evolved from monkeys.

Guest
Do christians not think god is factual? I'd say you could answer that yourself. Would you believe in a belief and base your life around its values which you thought wasn't true? I wouldn't - what a complete waste of time. navyplaya
. No one was around there and no ones got hard evidence to state that humans evolved from monkeys. Ignorant, just ignorant. I noticed a few people posting some really ignorant things, so I'm just going to say one thing as I don't want to get into a long battle with this. In the theory of evolution, people did not evolve from "monkeys." Instead, monkeys and people evolved together from older primates, and due to natural selection and location and yada yada, people are people and monkeys are monkeys. So if you are arguing against evolution by saying that people couldn't have evolved from monkeys, do me a favor. Research the theory of evolution, and as soon as you are done, pull your cord out of your computer. -All sigs by me.[My Gallery]

Once you do come up with that hard evidence - not from some biased site based on scientific opinion, then by all means share. In the theory of evolution, people did not evolve from "monkeys." Instead, monkeys and people evolved together from older primates, and due to natural selection and location and yada yada, people are people and monkeys are monkeys. And in my response would of it made any difference if I stated the word primate or monkey? Would of the opinion I was trying to express have any changed bearing if I had used the correct word? Eels, as has been stated on this forum more times than one can count, there is a difference between the scientific definition of a theory and the general one. Dictionary.com isn't going to help you here. As for your post, I guess I'll reference this link for the 100th time: Evolution is a Fact and a Theory [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed.
