MrBowser Posted September 16, 2007 Share Posted September 16, 2007 Ok, I just had this idea, that is quite probably stupid, but, ummm.... when I read rule 7, I saw "Software that generates input to the RuneScape applet. This includes software that automatically moves the mouse pointer or generates mouse clicks or key presses." Well, that made me think... Would making a key, that's like another key, like on keyboard, that gave the result of clicking, like 5 keys, or 5 mouse clicks, or something like that, be illegal? Because, it seems to me, that that is not actually "automaticly" moving the mose pointer. It's as manual as clicking a key on a keyboard, so.... Is it legal? It gives you in unfair advantage, and I can't think of anything that you just click one spot over and over again. Cowards can't block Warriors. But to answer your question, if you are using a third-party program to assist you by doing what you said, it would be illegal. But if it's something built into your computer, like the Mousekeys, then it's perfectly okay. I know that for a fact because I once messaged Jagex about mousekeys. Pirate Rosetta stone. It would still be a part of the computer, not software. And I would have clicked it, so it would be in no way automatic, anymore that cliking the "x" key and having the letter x appear.... right? It gives you an unfair advantage, and it's something you can control and someone (possibly you) designed for this purpose. Therefore, it would probably be actioned against, even if it's allowed via the exact literal interpretation of the rule. Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Aneron Posted September 16, 2007 Share Posted September 16, 2007 I'm not sure if this helps, but it is completely legal to use mousekeys (a function that all windows computers have, IDK about linux/apple). Go to control panel, accessibility options, mouse, use mousekeys. You can now move the mouse using the keypad, and click is the "5" key. It's really the only way that people alch. I assume that it's legal, but since it registers exactly the same as a normal click, that doesn't matter. It isn't unfair in any manner, except to people who don't have knowledge of it.
