September 22, 200718 yr Those people must be so stupid when they're tormenting animals, I mean, they don't really think about what it feels. How about when you get tormented? Wouldn't feel so good when your head is getting pulled off. That was justa example.
September 22, 200718 yr we're all earthlings; humans and animals. we're all species of the earth, it's just we're more advanced. therefore we all need to be treated with the same amount of respect that we would want ourselves, swings and roundabouts. but, like I said, we are all species of this earth, and we all depend upon one another to coexist, which also includes the food chain. I'm sure you know how the food chain goes. so yeah, we obviously need to kill animals so we (humans) can survive. but what I don't stand for is animal cruelty. watch this video, It's an hour and a half, but it opened my eyes. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 3661048967 My dA account..retired, as of the 1st January 2008.
September 22, 200718 yr Here is the original Article. What a loser, taking neighboorhood cats, INJURING THEM, and then feeding them to his pitbulls. And on top of that...he has firearms and "grass" in his house. Can you spell [developmentally delayed]? (PMG I JUST DID!@qwe%!!!!) This especially makes me mad because of him purposefully injuring and feeding the cats to his dogs...I absolutely hate cruelty to animals. People these days....ugg Personally I think no animal is to big or to small to be ignored. Wow... I think the same way mate. I never thought that anyone actually cared. And with the cat story, I nearly cried... :( An animal lives, it has a right to live. It doesn't matter how long it lives, or what it looks like, or how f*cking annoying it is. It's still got a right to live, damnit. I dont need a siggy no moar.
September 22, 200718 yr First off: This thread started with an article about a man injuring cats and then feeding them to his dogs, but then some of the resident tip it "post something that matters" people came in and went haywire. So I made it into "something that matters" Here is the original Article: [hide=Article]Article What a loser, taking neighboorhood cats, INJURING THEM, and then feeding them to his pitbulls. People these days....ugg For those of you who don't trust links :P: LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - A man captured neighborhood cats and kittens and fed them live to his pit bulls, authorities said Thursday. Tye Hilmo, 21, was charged Thursday with aggravated cruelty to animals. ADVERTISEMENT Hilmo was already in jail on drug, firearm and probation violation charges, Gwinnett County sheriff's spokeswoman Stacey Bourbonnais said. The new warrant charges that Hilmo "did give injured live cats and kittens to his pit bull dogs and let the pit bulls kill the already injured cats and kittens. Hilmo would capture and injure neighborhood cats for this purpose." He was arrested Sept. 10 after investigators serving a search warrant on his house found guns and two pounds of marijuana, Bourbonnais said. He has been jailed since then. Authorities found the bodies of two kittens near Hilmo's residence. Bourbonnais said they also found a gruesome image on Hilmo's cell phone: a picture of one of his pit bulls and one of the mauled, dead kittens, and beneath picture a caption that says "Good Dog." "It's pretty disturbing," Bourbonnais said. The initial tip about Hilmo indicated he may be feeding kittens and cats to his dogs to prepare the dogs for fighting, but no dogfighting charges have been leveled against Hilmo, Bourbonnais said. Sheriff's officials could not immediately say whether Hilmo has an attorney.[/hide] I'm a junkie for the prevention of cruelty to animals. Even Cruelty to animals like rats or mouses pisses me off. I hate it! The animals were here before we were and we come in and treat them like crap. So what is your stand on it? Have you guys ever done anything to help attempt to stop it? A guy I know works for the ASPCA(American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) he said its the best job and the worst at the same time. (due to what horrible conditions the animals are in, but also how they save so many thousands of animals) Personally I think no animal is to big or to small to be ignored. My stand? I dont give a [bleep]. Why should i, its only a cat, dog, rat ect has no effect on my life. Waste of peoples time, why not go campaign for a cure for aids. instead worrying about little animals
September 22, 200718 yr Author One thing I always ask animal rights activists is if they spend an equal or greater amount of time campaigning for human rights. So, topic author, do you spend an equal or greater amount of time campaigning for human rights? If not, do you think animal rights are more important than human rights? Sorry, missed your question the first time around  My Answer: I really don't campaign much for animal OR human rights. I support both of them with a passion, but i've never really done anything(I guess that makes me pretty stupid :^o ) And to Raz: Wow...thats great. As I just said above in my answer to insane I support human rights and other such things regarding humans alot too. But that doesn't mean I ignore animal rights either :? we're all earthlings; humans and animals. we're all species of the earth, it's just we're more advanced. therefore we all need to be treated with the same amount of respect that we would want ourselves, swings and roundabouts. but, like I said, we are all species of this earth, and we all depend upon one another to coexist, which also includes the food chain. September 22, 200718 yr If anyone I knew hurt my dogs, I'd kick their [wagon]. It's not even funny, I hate seeing movies of how animals die due to the climate and all... (the movie Eight Below made me wanna cry almost). I can't even believe people would do such a thing, animals can be loyal companions, and loyal pains in the [wagon]. But we all love them (except for some people with an evil ego). If I found some dude abusing his dog, I'd knock him unconcious. That's what I would do though... I don't know about you all though.

September 22, 200718 yr it's a living thing with emotions No, animals don't have complex emotions and feelings like humans do. Animals are simple creatures put on this planet to serve us. We as humans rule this world because we have the superior mind. Animals are just simple creatures who run around and don't give anything except LARGE SMELLY TURDS. I mean, don't get me wrong. Animal cruelty is wrong, but you're not going to go to hell for hunting a bear. I don't care for farm raised animals, though. They're raised for meat and are made into meat, so we're all happy.
September 22, 200718 yr Author To Agunimon979: Even though animals don't have complex emotions like we do, they still have emotions no matter how simple they are, especially the smarter ones such as dolphins. I'm not talking about hunting as a cruelty, I never said it was right, but it isn't cruel unless you like shoot out all of its legs and leave it :? Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. May want to do a little reading on the subject before you make unproven claims. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotion_in_animals http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_cognition "The only way to avoid packaging the water would be to deliver it to people's homes and places of business through some sort of amazingly intricate and complex series of reservoirs, pumping stations, pipes . . . hey, wait a second.."

Well yes, I have heard dogs whine because they've been locked up and stuff, but they animals don't have emotions for the same reasons humans do. Hunting is not cruelty, yes, but what you said about shoot all of its legs and leave it is cruelty. When you shoot an animal, what do you think goes on in it's brain when it's dieing? "Omfg tehy shotted me I'm dieing those [beep] [beep]'s shot me now Im gonna die"? They probably dont think anythign when they die.

September 22, 200718 yr I hunt quite avidly, year round. I don't think it's cruel if you use the animal you hunt. We make food from whatever we kill (rabbit stew, deer jerky...yum). But being cruel to ANY animal just makes me sick. I lived in the city one time, I had a little chocolate lab. I loved that dog more than anything. I was maybe 13. A kid came by on a bike, and shot my dog with a BB gun, I was just sitting outside and saw it. I chased that little bastard down, yanked him off his bike, and beat the living hell out of him (never heard a word from the kid after he scampered off, or from his parents). He was probably my age. It just disgusted me how people can find pleasure in hurting animals. By the way, the dog was fine. :) I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.
September 22, 200718 yr ...And humans are simply ignorant morons who run around causing the annihilation of this planet. What's your point? September 22, 200718 yr ...And humans are simply ignorant morons who run around causing the annihilation of this planet. What's your point? My point is that no matter how intellectually advanced or how superior humans believe that they may be, it's inevitable that they'll lead to this planet's downfall.

My point is that no matter how intellectually advanced or how superior humans believe that they may be, it's inevitable that they'll lead to this planet's downfall. Hell frikkin' no. Not only are we magnitudes of power away from achieving such a feat (using every explosive on the planet at once we don't come even close) , nearly all "end of the human race" scenarios are caused by natural occurances, not man-made ones. So the human race may die for some reason, but the planet's probably gunna live on long after we're gone. So not only is your point wrong, but I have yet to find the reason why you even mentioned it. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Again, what's your point to the topic's discussion? I was just voicing my opinion on the subject of humans possessing superiority over other animals. My point was that something as diabolical as to cause the planet's demise should in no way be crowned superior. It's partially relevant to this topic's discussion as some believe that animals are solely existant to serve the needs and hunger of humans. Edit: I apologise if those statements didn't contribute to the discussion at hand. It's just that it aggrivates me when someone believes that humans are superior to all other forms of life, for whatever reason.
