If you go to the portals in the wild with fire cape on and when your flying up, your fire cape turns brown for 2 seconds (not the item but on your character)

Um, hes not saying the orange f2p cape turns into a firecape hes saying that when your wearing a firecape and tele at portals it looks like a regular orange cape.

I'm guessing that i'd take a lot more graphical work to render an animated cape that morphs like that when you tele than it would be to use a f2p style cape. It's probably just a corner cut to save a lot of man hours making an animation that wont really get noticed anyway.

They dont do 'animations' for each cape type smart one, they just change the shape/position of the character. And, its CLIENTSIDE that the cape movement is done, duh...
