I actually got only 2 hours of sleep before waking up. It's especially weird since on normal days I wake up a few hours later than that.

I was extremely impressed when Halo Combat Evolved came out. I was used to playing on the PS1 and N64 at the time. Co-op Halo was probably my favorite old school gaming experience.

Sorry 'bout quickly leaving that swords match. I realized it was 2 am and that I had to wake up in 5 hours

back from my 3 day ban lol.

yeah, can someone show me one of those empty forge maps where people practice no-scoping in a small room? i made a make-shift one i play on sometimes, but a better made one would be cool.

ah, my last post in this topic:

halo 3 is fun.

Just finished the campaign. I was highly disappointed, I thought it would be a bigger ending. : /

[hide=spoiler]I had expected cause of that model they created in this video http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=uQnh7k09XBo , that there would be a huge battle with the brutes... but that never happens :([/hide]

I hated the ending. The warthog race at the end was a rip-off of Halo 1's ending, except not epic  I thought they would finish the series with a good ending with good closure, not leave it open to another sequel...

How would you re-write the ending?

I dunno, I kinda thought the Warthog thing was a nice throwback to #1. And it wasn't set up for a sequel; it was set up for Marathon.

You'd probably know more about the Halo story than me, so I'll take your word for it...

If I had to re-write the ending, I'd have MC be near-death, with a brute standing over him, ready to curb-stomp him GoW style, when the other remaining however-many-there-are spartans left would come to his rescue. Then for the final scene, the remaining spartans fighting off some waves upon waves of Covenant, with some of Bungie's epic background music playing (kind of like the ending of the Ghosts of Onyx book, if anyone's read it). From there I'm a little fuzzy, but this is just off the top of my head.

One thing I always found funny about the Halo story is that the games never involve Dr. Halsey, but in the books she's a major character.

jjroxlu7.jpg

That would be epic but the Covenant were wiped out. The only remaining enemy are the flood and the firing of Halo will wipe them out anyway.

Who said that?

Weren't there still Covenant alive when the ring blows?

I would imagine that there would be on each race's home world, but without the profit of truth there is no one to lead them.

Well, yes and no. Yes, that the Covanent wern't all on the Ark or within the radius of the ring when it fired, and no, because there are stull many many other prophets, but some aren't as known or as evil as the three High Prophets as they were called.

The Prophets as a species were either dwindling or just very low, I forget. And I think High Charity may have become their homeworld since they took a piece of theirs when they lifted the Forerunner Dreadnought off of their real world. So unless they were evac'd when the Civil War began, they may have been wiped out after the Flood took High Charity.

But that last part is speculation on my part, the rest is described in Contact Harvest.

Well, I guess I have to go get Contact Harvest.

The only "evil" prophet was the Prophet of Truth. He knew all along that he had nothing to do with the Halo rings, but that it was the humans that did. Instead, he created the lie that is the Great Journey, and deceived the other Prophets and Covenent. And the Covenent, moreover the Brutes, probably would have all been guarding the Prophet while he attempted to activate the Halos. What I actually would have found funny is if the Prophet succeeded. He would not have experienced anything, since the Ark is outside of the Halos' firing radii. He would just be standing there, wondering why nothing happened.

Also, I liked the ending, the only thing I would have liked more is if it were harder. Even on Legendary it's just too easy. The problem with the Flood is that they're too easily taken care of in a vehicle. Also, the driving is way too easy. I want some pinholes to thread, maybe some jumps that really require some good aim. This thing was basically hit and miss. Either you easily got through, or a panel exploded when you're a foot in front of it. Or, even worse, a bad roll that puts your warthog sideways onto one of the catwalks. Those are just a [bleep].

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

You know, I never beat the game in a warthog. I knew about the ghosts, and grabbed one and drove like a son of a gun.

Beating it in a mongoose is better.
