Sumpta
On a similar note, it's annoying for high level combat players too to be always thought about in terms of their combat level. I can't keep track of the times that I'm spoken to by my level instead of my nickname. Also, for the first time, someone complimented me on my combat level (120) in RS, a few days ago. I was quite put out, really, because my combat is the last set of skills I'm proud of... But it's quite childish to say "yeah yeah yeah, but have you seen my farming, herblore and slayer?", since, obviously they can't see them.
Ginger_Warrior
Sad fact for you, Sumpta, despite having a total level of 1950+, is nowadays many would judge you by an untrimmed Fletching cape. TBH, that's probably worse than people judging you for a combat level. There's no doubting combat is a vital part of the game. Most high levels I would imagine don't gain their money through skills, they gain it through Barrows and Dragon Drops etc.. That money, in turn, is used to help train skills wich require money, such as Contruction and Herblore. When you think about doing four hours of Barrows (about as long as it would take to make, from scratch, 1K Yew Longbows), you can bet you'd get more than 600-odd Kgp. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
oropher
That's what the ignore list is for. You should've just said "Noob miniclipper" and then iggied them. I guess, but I like to give people a chance to say what their arguement is. Then, I debate it. But, I did eventually put them on ignore lol. Nice try, but there is NO way you could debate with people like that. There's a good reason that 102 was muted in the first place. THEY were the noobs, kudos to you for staying calm. I reached 99 fletching very shortly after the capes were introduced, simply from fletching my maples from MTK - there never was money making or hunting for a 99 involved. I never bought the cape and chances are I never will... Sadly, the main reason was so I wouldn't get any comments on my fletch, at least. It's not that I'm not proud of my combat, I am. It's true that the game revolves around combat, whether the skillers like it or not. The skills are there to help you achieve your combat goals. For me, the ultimate character on RS is a good all-rounder, with combat in balance with skills. And that's the issue: I cherish that balance: I achieve my combat almost solely through slayer, slayer gets me herblore/farming, etc etc. And this is not clear unless you look up my levels. Same as the other achievements, such as the 1950+ total. Oh well, in the end it doesn't matter, I guess. People will judge.
Master_the_Great
what can we say? People love judging others nowadays. Some just love to get on peoples nerves and call them names and those are the kids with no lives. Just ignore them and walk away. :notalk:

pieman371
I totally agree with you. There are stupid people who think that they "Own" all because they are pure, have a 99 combat skill, etc. Its just pointless. Skilling is as much important as combat. What, are you going to make 100M by killing monsters within 2 months? NO. Skilling makes most of the money in runescape anyway. -End rant- Dragon drops-2 Obby drops-3 Barrow drops - 18Double chests - 2Signature last updated: 5th Jan 2008

Skilling makes most of the money in runescape anyway. -End rant- First point- Yea thats true. 2nd point- You can make 100m killing monsters apparently within 2 months, see those hilts that people gotten since godwar dungeon is released? I didn't get any gwd drops but still manage to get 40m~45m in 2 months with combating. Clearly 100m by killing stuff in 2 months is very possible. 3rd point- Actually it does especially with the fletching and alching and runecrafting. (That almost tricked me in saying "no STAKING IS" :P ) Well skilling and combating are like yin and yang, they coexist and is as important as one another. Take for example green d'hides, you can't get them from skilling...Many more if you realize it HK Total Level 2247- 11x 99s All Combat Skills, Slayer, Summoning, Woodcutting, Herblore

adsee5
This infuriated me, and always will infuriate me. People who think, that if you stink at combat, then you stink at everything. I was minding my own business, filling those poor old Varrock guards with holes from my Adamant poision darts. Don't worry, they died fast. Then, I notice a lvl 102, thieving from guards. I said (Lvl 102 was muted FYI.) Me: "Hey, you do know the minigame 'Pyramid Plunder'? it offers really great xp." Noob1:"he said 2 stfu becuz ur just a dumb lvl 57" Me:"Huh?" Noob1:"hes muted moron he told me to tel u to stfu" Me: "What's his problem? I just offered advice." Noob1:"yea wel u cant pk crud u wana fight him? lolol hed own u" Me: "Hmm, no thanks, I prefer skilling over combat." Noob1:"dats cuz u cant fight nooob so u stink lolol" Me:"Hmmm, how is not wanting to fight make me stink?" Noob1:"u just scared dats wat lolol his (102) stats own urz" Me:"Actually, lol, my old acc has lvl 88 mage, and 78 range, I think I'd beat him" Noob1: "lier lolool" Then, I went on Saruman44, and came to the spot. Me: "Ta-da! It's me, the lvl 57." *Lvl 102 does laugh emote, then beckon emote* Noob1:"he says hes gonna beat u cuz u cant pk lolol" Me: "Actually, I hate staking or Pk'ing, sorry. No fight." *I then get back on Noes, and Pm Brainiac to come, and try to debate thier "infallible" logic.* All the sudden, a level 84 comes on the scene, from hereon out, AKA: "Noob2" Noob1:"hey, ______ (Noob2) is _______ (102)'s Gf...dats 1 thing u dont have lolol" Noob2:"so is this the noob u were talking about?" Me: "I'm sorry, how am I a noob?" Noob1:"ur stats stink so u cant pk so u stink" *Brainiac comes on the scene* *Me and Brainiac start to argue about how, combat isn't the only thing in the game." ~Saru yea, having a girlfriend who is a buncha pixels on an online game, thats the best feeling ever :^o ( i smell a video game addict) their idiots, leave it at that, that lvl 102 was prob muted for assaulting a lvl 3 skiller, just because that skiller prob had more money than him
