Bohemian Rhapsody

Featured Replies

Okay. so as some of you know, im a metal head. i listen to nothing but metal, for the most part. but if there is one song i cant get enough of its Bohemian Rhapsody By Queen

Now, myself, i think this is one of the greatest songs EVER made. if any of you agree, i do not know. But i think so

The instruments could not of fit any better. The guitar solos, PERFECT. The emotion you get from the song is also great.

I myself think that Bohemian Rhapsody is one of, if not the best song ever created, and Queen could not of done a better job. Who agrees?

Also, Queen is one of the BEST slow rock band ever to walk this earth

Of corse, this is all MY opinion

If you dont know the song, Bohemian Rhapsody here is a link to the video.

Let me know how you guys feel about the song. Thanks

Me gusta.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

How I feel about it...it's amazing?

Yea, I'm with you on one of the best songs ever written/played, and Queen is an overall excellent band, great musicians. I can't get enough of the whole album! If you don't have it, get Night at the Opera, every song on the album is different, and great.

"El que no arriesga no gana"

It's a truly beautiful song, amazingly created and played. I know every word, and can't resist singing along to it - ever... It's one of my favourite songs.

Being immature is a part of being mature.

How can you say that Queen is the best "slow rock band" ever to walk this earth if the rest that you listen to is Metal only.

Edit: yes it's a good song. But I prefer Innuendo. Or Under Pressure.

When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

Agreed. Quite possibly the greatest song ever written and performed.

Queen were proper rockers, creating some of the most original sounds in the music industry.

They've yet to be surpassed by anyone else. Although a few have come close ;)

Truth, Under Pressure does rock. I almost forgot about it *smacks self*...

Nope, never heard of it.

Blasphemyyyy! =P

I like Who Wants to Live Forever better :-w...

But it is one of the best songs ever. Kind of funny how they couldn't get the single out initially because everybody thought the song was too long...

I. Love. Bohemian. Rhapsody.

That is the classic example of the guitar solo, and it was the first solo I ever learned on guitar. The riff, everything... love Queen.

However when the band released a Greatest Hits cassette in Iran a leaflet in farsi was included with translation and explanations of the lyrics. There Queen states that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is about a young man who has accidentally killed someone and, like Faust, sold his soul to the devil. On the night before his execution he calls for God in Arabic, "Bismillah", and with the help of angels regains his soul from Shaitan[6].

This is what it means.

Mama, just killed a man,

Put a gun against his head

Pulled my trigger, now he's dead

Mama, life had just begun

But now I've gone and thrown it all away

Mama, oooh... Didn't mean to make you cry

If I'm not back again this time tomorrow

Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come

Sends shivers down my spine

Body's aching all the time

Goodbye everybody, I've got to go

Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth

Mama oooh... I dont want to die

I sometimes wish Id never been born at all

Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

That and the "BeÃÆÃâÃâëlzebub has a devil set aside for me..." line really don't leave much room for interpretation...

It's a pretty good song, just perhaps a bit grossly overrated.

overrated.

Queen rocks. I've liked the band since I was 3-years-old when my mom played the songs to me. I used to sing the songs in daycare though I didn't know a word of English back then.

Queen is still one of my favourite bands ever, and I can't wait to see a Queen tribute rock opera "Another Kind of Magic" next Friday (2.11.).

Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the legends, but I prefer The Show Must Go On, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Who Wants to Live Forever and Breakthru.

R.I.P. Freddie. We miss you.
