The Holiday Items

I've noticed how everyone seems to knock the new holiday items, while holding phats, pumpkins etc in god like status.

 

 

 

But take a step back and consdier it like this:

 

 

 

Imagine allthe recent holiday items are years and years old so there are few in circulation plus they are tradable

 

 

 

Meanwhile all the old ones are recent ones, and are not tradable.

 

 

 

Now based on how they ACTUALLY look and how useful they ACTUALLY are if phats etc were modern holiday items we'd all dis them as being rubbish

 

 

 

Conversly if a chicken suit was worth hundreds of mil and only a few hundred remained we'd all think they were so kewl and clamour for them.

 

 

 

The point of this thread?

 

 

 

Judge holidays on their own merits, not against the merits of the old tradable holidays items - as next to them no new one can seem kewl

They look just as gd/bd as all the other wearable holiday items, but again some people can't put them mind into situation.

 

 

 

If phats were the un-tradable re-aquirable holiday items you'd have a miniority who likes them and wears them and a majority who'd complain that they were rubbish and pointless.

 

 

 

You can claim assorted old rares or w/e look good til the cows come the fact of the matter is 90% of you only think they look good BECAUSE of the status they hold. Sure theres maybe 10% who'd like them still for looks, but the same is true of all wieldable rares

 

 

 

Danqazmlp is the only player I can see who has posted saying phats look good on this thread who has actually given a justifiable reason for likng them beyond price. NB saying you look them because they "look good" isn't a reason because in most heads they look good because they are rare and a status symbol.

 

 

 

Especially when you considered that HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of phats, santas and masks were dropped or alched away when they first were released. Why was that? because most players thought they looked bad and had no value. Why do they regret it now? because they dropped one of the "best" items in the game.

thats a rough estimate (there was a post a few months back about this)

 

all the big players who had rares and had gotton banned were on a list and the total nnumberse of rares lost was 3000

 

 

 

and how come you doubt me on everything?

I would actually love if the older holiday items were more recent. I don't like phats for the cost, just because the yellow one looks like a gold crown. I love the look of masks because if you get it right you can look like a drgon'ish thing. Ok santa's i wouldn't be hot on, or bunny ears, but the same with the scythe i would love it.

 

 

 

i go on the looks of them more than the show off value, but i don't think the newer items fit into any outfits on thier own.

Personally, I really like the egg ring =D

 

It's lots of fun, and you don't see them so often anymore. However, I think that halloween masks are the best items simply for the looks. Partyhats, honestly, look kinda stupid. However, sometimes you can work them into a good outfit. Full dragon with a red halloween mask is cool though.

The best recent non-tradeable holiday item is the Jester Hat and Scarf (White & Red) But Sanats are still prety good looking.

 

 

 

And yes I agree that Chicken Suits if costing as much as phats would be admired just as much.

The less of an item the game has, the more desired it becomes. (Whips, Saradomin Godswords, Steam Battlestaves, et. al.)

 

 

 

If it's not tradeable but definitely not re-acquirable then it's worthless. It'd be the same with partyhats; no one would care about them until they're in high demand and worth multi-millions (or thousands of dollars; damn E-Bay).

personally, id like to see the rubber chicken be redone, but take that lightly, i am refering to an item that allows for similar type abilitys. it does not have to be a chicken or a weapon that lets you whack people...

 

 

 

id like to see an item like it be introduced that, for example when kicked with these boots on makes the people dance. or something the lets you leep frog over people.

No, not at all. Party Hats are stylish and very good looking actually thats the main reason for the market on them. The chicken suit is a horrid disaster I only have it for the collection is fast and never wear it. But I do wield my rubber chicken alot because it's kool and stylish.

Totally agreed. I bet people wouldn't be all nuts about party hats if everyone had a set. Sure some people would still wear them for their looks, but the rich high levels would probably prefer something more show-offy, which is the whole reason they wear party hats in the first place.

Party Hats + Santa's + Mask actually look pretty awesome.

 

 

 

Chicken Suit + Reindeer hat and other stoof = Nasty looking. If it were tradable it would probaly be like the easter egg.

 

 

 

I wish the christmas stoof from 2005? was tradable with the Scarf and de hat really pretty.

Personally, if I had a choice between the chicken suit and a phat and they were both the same price at hundreds of millions, I'd definitely chose a phat since they look much better than the chicken thing. Looks and wearability affect a lot of the price and the older holiday items looked much better.
