BlueLancer
SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) is the coolest one I experienced, and no, the graphics don't really matter. Snes games have most often than not a great gameplay. Such as the classic games like Zelda: A link to the past and Chrono Trigger are really awesome pieces of work and the way they are designed is something you don't even see in todays games. At the moment PS2 and GC have the best games (at least IMO) and I own them both. They are really fun to play, but it doesn't compare to the feeling you'd get when playing a good Snes game the first time. And I don't agree that GameCube is a "kiddy" console. Yes it has some games directed towards the younger audience, just don't play them if you don't like them. GameCube has some very good titles like Resident Evil Zero and numerous other quality games. Pete_the_Viscous
If I'm allowed to say it, then PC. Otherwise, one of the early consoles, as this was from a time when they were better than the PC games available. They had terrible graphics, but (cue nostalgia) we had imaginations. You know, small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts... (nintendo)tetris, for example. GreenBerets. The legend of cage(sp?), etc. Oh well. Some new console games look good... but they don't look as good as things on the PC, so it's not such an achievement. They should be aiming at substance. deviantart account
Mr_Putter
I don't see why PC wouldn't count. He said "Video Game System", and while PC's aren't exclusively for games, they do play games (A lot of games) and they are a system with which you can operate games on. He didn't say console... blade995
i have a couple that are my favorites. PSP (playstaton portable), ps2, and pc. The only thing i don't like about the computer is just to play the high end games you gotta spend tons and tons of money.
Bubsa
SNES. Well maybe the NES. The NES was sooo cool but the joypads didn't give you much fun = Bad :( = Good :) http://www.gifford.co.uk/~coredump/gpad.htm = Interesting evolution of joypads :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

Futurama
Currently i'd probably say the PC, mostly because of the massive range of games and what else you can do on it (internet, photoshop...) However, SNES and Mega Drive were my favourites back in the day...soo many memories attatched to those consoles :)

Pyro
PC. Superior hardware, which means vastly improved graphics. The best controllers (Mouse and keyboard). Usefull for other things than gaming. Better monitors (non-HD TV's have lousy resolutions). Obviously, the price is the major con.
Lionheart_0
pyro... i think he ment an actual console... No doubt about it, the xbox rules over all consols, with is supiror technical stuff. But as for games, the ps2 owns... well mostly just for ff games. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! Ne0z
In my opinion the ps2 is best 1st.Ps2: I really like sony's games... they are always good, also the controller is very userfriendly and not all weird and stuff. 2nd.Gamecube: Havnt played alot of it but i find the graphics are very good , the controllers are a bit weird but can get used to them, but the games are a bit childish and boring. 3rd.Xbox : i dont really like the games microsoft brings out on the xbox and the xbox controllers are just stupid... a good thing about the xbox is its easy online capabilities. If pc counts i would probobly rate that the best although to play the high end games today cost alot of money, 10x what it costs to buy a console which is a major downside for most people :)

I mean... why should you pay 10$ a month to get online with a system, when companys like sony offer's it for free, and same as pc. (not counting your internet provider. so if you get the internet just for xbox , its like 40$ a month brodband lol, not worth it). Anyways, i realy think that sega was my favorite console team. Too bad they can't market worth * and sony got ahead of them :( sega saturn realy was a good system, fun games, nice controler. Just got overrun. Same as dreamcast :(

Pyro
pyro... i think he ment an actual console... I fail to see the difference between PC's and "consoles". They both have motherboards, they both have processors, they both have memory, they both have video cards, they both have PSU's and they both have sound cards. Heck, some consoles even use the x86 architecture. You can connect a PC to a TV. You can connect gamepads to a PC. The way I see it, there is very little difference between modern-day consoles and PC's, and thus, the term "Video game system" includes both. However, out of all non-PC systems I prefer the PS2. For the sole reason that it has the GTA and Final Fantasy games.
