It aint really as complicated as most people try to make it sound.

Just work out where aint nackered, don't go mad and eat lots of meat, dairy and carbs.

Whats wrong with eating lots of meat, dairy and carbs? :-s

Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.

Sod the gym mate, find yourself an abandoned barn, improvise and have your own little Rocky moment.

And if you're a pink ball, use this for your cardio workout!

Rollerblading, in a thong. In public. =P

Dude, do it all in the same day. Trust me, it helps. Repitition is the key.

Whenever i work out i always run for 40 minutes or bike for 40 minutes to get the blood pumping after that i switch to weights. I switch off on days so for monday i may do upper body then tuesday do lower body. I also like to do lighter weights in beginning and slowly progress to heavier ones.

Geez, you guys really get into the organization this stuff. I just follow the "give one rest day" rule and just train whenever :XD: .

I do my full body workout every 2nd day, I do 100 push ups 200 curls 200 straight out arms lifts 100 sit ups and 200 rocky belboa things. It's a full body workout, makes me look Great ::'
What the hell do you curl? 1 lb. dumb bells?

I could probably do 100 with 15's. :L XD

So could any old geezer. Pump up the weight.

Whatever

I decided to take care of my out-of-shape body by heading to the local gym. I started back in June, and while I've definitely seen results, it requires a ton of dedication. And if theres one thing I've learned throughout this whole experience, its that no matter what you're doing, theres someone that will tell you you're doing it right ,and someone else to tell you you're doing it wrong.

I've seen guys lifting certain ways, only to overhear someone say they shouldn't roll their shoulders, or bring their arms down straight, or hold the weights that way, the next day hearing other people contradicting those earlier statements. I am shocked at how many myths permeate weight lifting.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread or anything, just venting, and I believe that it pertains (at least somewhat) to the topic at hand, as far as switching off every other day. If you're sore, then it makes sense to work other muscles until the sore ones are back in working order. But if you're not sore the day after, don't bother, you didn't work out hard enough.

Wow how is there not a workout sub-forum or ONE topic devoted to working out? It seems every time someone makes one of these topics there are a lot of people bragging and more than likely over-exaggerating on the weight and reps they can do. Oh also T-Roach decides to post =p.

I can agree with you Poop, there are a ridiculous amount of myths associated with working out, which is extremely annoying because I don't know what to believe. I'm taking a weight training course next semester so I'm hoping I'll get a professional or someone who knows what's what.

Something I find kind of funny in the gym is all of the people who solely work out their upper body and they have weak as crap legs and they look like stupid meatheads. I always get a good laugh about all of those arrogant morons. Anyways a problem I've been having recently is my right arm hurts whenever I do bench so I haven't been able to keep up with my friends as well, so I don't know if I should be trying to fight through the pain or give it a long rest before I try again. I don't do bench for a few days like maybe over the weekend and it will still start hurting after I either workout or play dodgeball.

Yeah well come on, this is Tip.it forums, I can assure you almost everyone is exaggerating, same thing always happens on the "how tall are you?" threads.

I also agree about the meatheads, those guys with the big arms, fat guts and tiny legs, they look really funny, especially when you realize they think they actually look good strutting around with their chest out.

Yeah there are tons of useless myths about bodybuilding. But actually it's very simple. The most important thing is that you go to the gym and work out, not forgetting about proper rest and food ofcourse.

I had my left wrist very hurting some time ago. What I did was I didin't use that arm for the time it was very bad condition (was around 2 weeks) and then started using it slowly and avoidet moves that made it hurt. And now the pain is gone.

I can agree with the whole there are too many myths things, but I also feel like adding take some peoples adivce to heart, i have a teacher in my school who also uses the weight room, hes taught me ALOT, and corrected me alot, and its helped dramaticly. I always love to hear peoples ideas about whats right and wrong in weightlifting. Sometimes I find it to be true, i suppose its a process of trial and error to find what works for the individual.

Today i worked out on Tri/Bi Ceps. For some reason im lacking the soreness after. :( Even though im pushing myself as much as I can. #-o Ill be doing chest and shoulder tomorrow. \' And now for my latlest question. Protien shakes! Worth the money?

there's no rule against doing bis and tris on the same day, but i don't recommend it.

A. since bis and back coincide, you'll want to crush those muscles on one day and leave them alone as much as possible during recovery

B. tris and chest coincide, same rules apply as above

say you do tris monday, you crush them, and you want to do chest say on wednesday...well your tris are far from healed, whether you can feel it or not they are still torn. you use tris secondary to chest, also hitting them hard on your chest workout...this leads to overtraining, which has negative effects on growth and recovery.

i lift bis two days a week (monday i crush them with standing barbell curls, hammer curls, dumbbell preachers, and incline dumbbell curls. Thursday i do low intensity 12-15 rep with just hammer curls and standing barbell curls)

tris i do tuesday and friday (make your own tri exercises to fit what you like)

i do chest with tris, i do bis with back, i destroy my legs on wednesday and give them a week to recover.

IF YOU DON'T DO LEGS FORGET DOING UPPER BODY. depending on genetics really, if you don't do legs then your body won't release all necessary recovery enzymes to take down inflamation quicker of your upper body.

thursday i'll do the light bis, i'll do shoulders and delts.

friday i'll do light tris and light chest.

i do bis tris and chest more than anything because those are my dominant muscle groups (for me) and recover the quickest for me.

make sure you take protein throughout the day, and i recommend taking glutamine pills (3 on days you you don't train, 5 on days you do)

creatine isn't really necessary but is beneficial to an extent, if you use it right. eat a lot of carbs (good carbs) and don't eat [cabbage]ty foods:)

Creatine always makes me sick to my stomach. It makes me a Poopingman.

I actually really like how that muscle milk stuff tastes, though. I've been taking that a long time, its easy to stomach, doesn't make you sick, and tastes great.

yeah, everyone's system reacts to it differently. muscle milk i used to use to put on mass, worked pretty well. some creatine is credible some isn't, you just have to research. i know a lot of people who took NO-Xplode and it gave them massive headaches (because it expands your veins hence there is more oxygen going into your brain causing headaches)...i took it and felt no negative side effects...everybody is different...btw poopingman, oldschool, remember me m8?>

it really is. all it is is a mental kick and a caffeine boost (some healing aminos) and improves vascularity (because everybody wants bulging veins, right?)

i do take BSN's cell mass though.

i take kre-alkalyn (higher ph-level so it can't convert to creatinine and harm your kidneys)

soon i'm going to start on a muscle-tech stack (leukic, gakic, creakic)
