Why not? It keeps the game within it's identity, and doesn't just go off making some random pointless maps that have nothing to do with the game. Most maps are good and fair too. :D

Been playing a bit more. On the topic of perks, I think that CoD4 has more balanced perks, but IMO, MW2 makes the perk Tiers more fun (I enjoyed using SoH with SP on MW2, can't do that in CoD4), which highlights how balanced, if a little boring, the perks are in CoD4.

Too bad I can't unlock jack until I hit the 30s.

Chinatown is really fun. You can use the M249 SAWS (in the building, anywhere else sets you up for flanking) to cut people down as the run past. My favourite one is the one in the south, where you can run on the roof too.

I've used the machine gun to take down helicopters before but apart from that its useless.

 

Mounted machine guns RIP apart helicopters. The choppers rarely fly in the turret's view, but when it does, it goes down REAL quick.

It makes me sad, after playing MW2 for a while, that my Xbox ate my COD 4 disc.

the only flaws i see in cod4 are:

 

knifing sucks (you can knife a guy, and have it not register)

spawning system

a short list of 3, compared to the innumerable one of grieveances(sp?) for MW2. i rarely play mw2 now. when i go on and see no friends online, i dont play mw2. i open disc tray, take out mw2 hardened edition, open up cod4 game of the year edition, swap the 2 discs, pop in cod4 game of the year edition, close the disc tray, and have FUN with a modern warfare game, for a change

CoD4's spawning issues are nothing when compared with MW2's, that game has the worst spawns I've ever seen. Only really becomes an issue on CoD4 playing Domination where you only have one flag and are against a good team who know how to spawn trap effectively.

I'm not sure, but the camouflages look way better than in MW2, both in terms of camo placement and the camos themselves.

and yea, camos look better in mw2 except on the M40 where all camo look beast, especially blue tiger. really blends well with that shade of green

Hit detection is bad.

 

End of. Shot a guy 3 times point blank with M40, he turned around and sprayed.

If you're lagging then yeah it is. CoD4 is the best out of the 3 in terms of hit detection, but it will never be perfect.

b.) Why ? I never really did like Deep Impact, seemed mostly useless unless you sprayed like heck or you knew before hand where your opponent was, or in another situation you've damaged them and they've run into a building. I don't come across those situations very often, TBH.

A) Well if it's hardcore, stick with the M21, but if not, try the M40 out. The claymores aren't very necessary too, imo. They're two kills compared to the however many more kills something like Bandolier could get you. And your team should be watching your back in TDM, and you should be moving around a bit in FFA. For Hardcore, Stopping Power is a tad superfluous, but I have no idea if there's any perks better suited.

 

B) Yeah, 'twas just a suggestion, I'd say they're both useful. I've just never had much occasion to sprint as a shooter guy, since it lowers your gun.

 

C) Well maybe grab UAV Jammer > Double Tap then? The 74u does a decent chunk of damage without the need to speed it up and waste your clip on a corpse, imo.

AK74u go with SP rather than DT, especially as you have a silencer, which worsens the damage at range, as well as the hipfiring if you didn't know that. I tend to just go with the iron sights. If you're not going to use silenced MP5 then use the red dot, the sights are fine but pretty bad at long range so you might as well have the red dot. I find using 3 x Frag pretty low personally, I'd use bandolier. Also for the AK because you're using the noobtube and no bandolier use SP because you'll run out of ammo too fast with DT. I have a USP silenced on every class, but the pistols just personal choice really, though M9 is probably the worst.

Hmmm Okay. Well, I got bored with that, and decided to start over to complete the challenges, and so far I'm level 13.

 

Current setup :

 

1.) AK Red Dot Sight + Stead Aim, Stopping Power, C4

2.) M21 + RPGx2, Stopping Power, Extreme Conditioning.

3.) M4 + Flashx3, Stopping Power, Last Stand

4.) MP5 + Stunx3, Stopping Power, Deep Impact

5.) Uzi + Stunx3, Stopping Power, Last Stand

All those setups look pretty damn bad to me.

and nice SP whoring :P uav jammer on mp5 is actually better. unlocked at lvl 11.

 

the AK doesnt need SP in cod4 either. i used uav jammer on a silenced AK and i get kills easy
