Merchanters aren't Real Characters

Not all merchants stand in W2 and autotype

The smart ones do other things like RCing/alching/ect while they wait for buyers/sellers on the forums.

Nice spam.

Did you do that because it was me that said it or because what I said? Elaborate.

And for the love of god stick to arguments. Insults do nothing but prove you're an idiot.

Sorry for replying to spam and again im sorry for replying again.

No its because your comment is aimed at someone with the biggest ego on the forum...

I had a thread a while ago that talked about how a few skillers tried to get that "bot" appearance to get others punished for reporting them, thinking they were a real bot.

Now, I'm seeing all of these "no skill merchanter" accounts that also try to copy what a bot looks like. And, they (Most likely get from their main) sell thousands of yew logs, autotyping, "Sell 30k yews 310 ea!!!!@@@@@@"

To even beef up the macroer image more.

In my opinion, I think that merchanting is a useful way of making money, but the "No Skill Merchanters" need to go. They can marchant just as effectively on their main account.

What do you have against none skiller merchants? They are free to do whatever they want...

So what's your point? It's spam to reply to someone with an ego?

I'll try to remember that next time you post, thanks.

I don't purposely sit there and spam "buying all shards 800k each" and then try to sell them for 1m each.

I hate those sort of merchants, buying any item in the game but always for a ridiculously low price.

I'm bookmarking this page just so I can come back in a year and remember when shards were worth more than 150k....

Merchenters are 1 person retail shops, they don't really affect the game at all they're just smart players

Mabye you should take some damn time to to see what the price really is before you buy it from the first person you see selling :|

Okay, how the HELL do you have a problem with someone that buys cheap - sells more.

If you think it's overpriced, use a darned price guide.

They pay $5 AD to merchant you say?.. And you say they sit on their donkey and do nothing? You do the same thing! I bet you saw "Oh, a rune axe for 15k. I can sell this for 20k in F2P"

If you have a problem with someone that sells something to get more money then you, sir, obviously have a mental disorder.

And as Peronix said, they usually do something whilst waiting for the person/people to buy their stuff. It's basically a skillers way of getting money. So don't flame peoples choices and decisions. You think it's dumb? Okay, think that. But it's not.

How do you make your money? Make things by fletching, then sell them? That's also merchanting. So don't rant about something you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm a level 3 pure skiller, and I make my money by making - selling. My friend gave me 1mil to start off with, and I turned that into about 3.6mil (MAX) in F2P, by MERCHANTING.

You fell for it, get over it.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

The point of RuneScape, which is in fact a game, is to have fun (while still following the rules, of course). If they have the most fun merchanting, then let them! What's stopping you from not having fun because they're there!

By the way, the point of this sort of game is to have fun. Obviously if you spend so much time complaining about merchants, then you should find a game that you do have fun whilst playing.

Think about that.

Merchants do have skill, the skill of patience. Myself, when I played I didn't like to merchant, and I was often frustrated at how merchants drove the price up and down so frequently. But I didn't think that merchants "weren't real characters" of course they're real! Just because you think that merchanting doesn't require skill, doesn't mean it's true. I'd like to see you stand around for days somewhere buying and selling over and over, it gets really boring! I still don't know how merchants can cope with the mind-numbing activity, and I admire them for that, and their ability to make quick cash.

Moving on, the point of Runescape, as you said is skills, I completely disagree. So you enjoy skills, ever thought that level 3's enjoy skills too? Just not the combat-related ones? Have you ever bothered to look up a level 3 to see if he was a "merchant noob"? For all you know he could have had 99 fishing or woodcutting, and in fact worked for those sharks or yew logs instead of you just assuming they merchanted for it.

You sir, are an idiot.

Another merchanter rant. If you're a merchanter, you'd probably best quit the game.

So I'm trying to buy my Torag's chest, and up comes a level 3, saying "I'll sell you it." I laughed and traded him, and he DID have one, and I'm like "Alright. big deal, he's a merchanter, so he obviously can't level skills." I bought it, and I was like "THAT JACK*** B**** RIPPED ME OFF 75K." Before you go "hah u newb", remember, I'm starting from nothing and working my way back up to 3 mil.

If you merchant- why? You're doing nothing but sitting there, wasting five bucks a month to say "ya i sell u this item rly high then buy another one." I've made 0 GP by merchanting, so I can say I'm an anti-merchant. It's stupid. You're taking the easy way out, and you're gonna be limited to wearing rares. I've played since 2002, and I've made all of my money by killing, gathering, or doing whatever I have to do.

Merchanters score a major miss on the point of the game. RuneScape isn't about money. It's about skill - of which, Merchanters have none, may I point out. They make me sick of how pathetic they are.

look, i agree, merchanters are pretty much just crap in all aspects, but thats only because i can't be bothered sitting there retyping all day.. All the power to them. But... i find it more fun, to level, and get an achievement, rather than sit there making money all day.

But you really make me laugh. 2002, and you're working BACK UP TO... 3mill?

look, its 2007 now, if 75k is alot to you, you really have been wasting all of your time while you play..

if you can't make enough to throw 75k away in 5 years, please.. for the love of god, quit.

^^Dude, you level up a skill, you get say 200 airs (RC) you sell them, THAT IS MERCHANTING.

Merchanters are people, and smart people that are extremely patient. If you don't like them, that's your choice, but I don't see why.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

That's a fair bit of generalizing there. I've played f2p since 2002 and I only have about 5 Mill, simply because all I've been doing is pking, and making only enough money that I need for arrows etc.

As my brother once told me, merchanting is just playing the market.

Yes, i do think its wrong that people do take advantage of price drops and then buy alot of that item eg. yew logs. Then single handedly push the price of yew logs up to 330 each, from when they were 250 each. Horrible day for me :(
