okay, fine this is an old one, but it still gets on my nerves. Let me start it this way, i myself am a combat level 79, which isnt great but its pretty okay and im sorta fed up if lvl 100's who are almost certainly 10 years old runnin around calling people "noobs"(or variations of this). Its just pathetic, you would think that they would have the brainpower to advance their vocabulary beyond 3 words!!!

Although theres a certain amount of satisfaction in sending monsters and sometimes other players into the next world, its not the only thing in the game.

You get this in any MMORPG really. They don't like new players around them. They think that they are superior to every single player on RuneScape. If the person has higher skills, they call them a "nerd". It's quite annoying really. I would suggest that if they persist, add them to your ignore list. It will waste their time by trying to send messages to you while you are sitting there enjoying the game.

I see this happen all the time. My best recommendation is to not stay around and fight because that may lead to cursing, and possible get you into trouble as well. Ignore list ftw, otherwise just keep walking/doing what you were doing before the situation happended because you dont want them to affect you from playing :D

noob is interesting for me. After about 4 years of playig runescape, I no longer even precive the word noob. I mean when I see it as I casualy look at what people say the word dose not registar, almost to the point where I block the image completly. Im sure its said alot more than I think on my infrequent visits to f2p, but I have developed a system that helps.

 

 

 

On a slightly related note, on my last 10 minute journey to f2p (for goblin mail, easier to get from a f2p general store) on a world at 1700 population, in Lumbridge not one persin said a thing to me and to be blunt im fairly insulted. At combat 87, full rune (gloves and boots too) except for the d med helm and whip (and also rune defender instead of sheild). Not great, but a [cabbage] load better than most of the people around me.

i know seriously.my lvl 75 got hacked then banned and so i made a new account.and im playing and 4 lvl 23's come up to me and go hey look its a new.lol but then my lvl 113 sister went up to them and scaed them they said sorry.but i tend to ignore it

OT: HEY! im level 100 >.< but ill let that go, i hate it! i honestly wish i could turn on some kind of a thing just to kill people who go round all day "noobing" their heads off... i wonder if they say it in real life too... i know some people say lol irl, ah well, a battering for all of them i say (unorthadox but it gets the bloody job done!)

Anyway, I saw him in Seers bank and it was all "LOL NOOB."

 

 

 

Goes to show that no matter how good you are, or how good you think you are, there'll always be someone to criticise. I have to admit, I'm not too fond of training combat but I was lvl 79 too for a long time whilst I was mining. I got one 'noob' comment, I just replied:

 

 

 

"I'm a noob? GREAT! Thanks a lot dude, I always wanted to be one of those!"

Basically, when you want to insult someone, you have to build up to it, and then you come to what I like to call "the punchline word." This can (but should never be) racist, sexist, or against ethnicity. Usually it's just a hateful word. And what word comes to mind first in RS apparently? Noob, becuase it "stings", it's not bleeping, and it is such a powerful word. :roll:
