Welcome to Co's Guide to Ranging Barrows!

 

 

 

Well, you may be thinking "Ranging barrows? CRAZY!" Well, you'd be wrong. With the new update to the

 

crossbows, it is actually quite simple!

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

75+ Range

 

75+ Defence

 

80+ attack and Strength(For karil)

 

43+ prayer (60+ Recommended)

 

Myreque Quest's done (recommeneded)

 

And basic knowledge of the barrows.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To do this, you need to have basic knowledge of the Barrows, if you do, skip this part, if not, read on.

 

 

 

 

What are the Barrows-

 

 

The Barrows are the tombs of 6 great brothers, Ahrim, Karil, Dharok, Guthan, Torag and Verac.

 

 

 

How to get there:

The blue line is if you did not do the Myreque quests, otherwise take the orange one.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The order you should kill them is quite different, because you are ranging. You should eagle eye and

 

and steel skin on all of them, but only steel skin on Verac, Guthan and Torag.

 

 

 

Kill Dharok DO NOT LET YOUR PRAYER DRAIN!!!

 

Next, head over to Verac. Prayer melee, and Sara brew up.

 

Then, head up and over to Guthan, he's a push over, don't even pray, unless you're <100.

 

Then head to Torag, same as above.

 

Then Ahrim, push over, don't pray.

 

Then karil, prayer and dds/whip.

 

 

 

Okay, now you may be thinking.. "Okay, but what do I need?"

 

 

Here is what you need, substitutes are as follows:

 

 

 

 

 

 

^Very best set up, ring of life can be used.

 

 

 

Setup above:

 

 

 

Karils>Black Dhide

 

Torags helm>Guthans>Veracs>Dharoks>Archer helm>Robin hat

 

Dragon Boots> Ranger boots>Rune boots

 

Fury>Glory>Power>Strength

 

 

 

anything else, cannot really be substituted.

 

 

 

Inventory: The best possible inventory:

 

 

^Sara brews are the best. Cannot replace range pots,

 

Saras with Sharks/Monks

 

Restores with p pots (Only if you're not sara-brewing.)

 

 

 

Ecto with House Teleport Tab (Highly recommended)

actually theres better ways to do it, just ask robin hoodie (purezammy84 ingame). he does it all the time, even before he was 99 ranged.

slayer dart would still be more efficient

I agree, the melee brothers have high ranged defence and I would only ever range Ahrim to make my trips effective.

ranging is not a very good way tbh...Its costs are simply massive, even more so then ancients. So much prayer pots and foods. Atleast ware torag's legs. Then use zammy book or rune kite.

Wouldn't veracs helm be the best? with the prayer bonus and same defence.

 

 

 

Also, would't black dragonhide be better as it has better melee defence for the brothers your not praying vs.

Isnt this condradictoring(sp?). Anyways I agree that ranging is not cost effective. Maybe useful for a range pure or someone who's melee stats arnt enough.

Personally i love the guide, very good tells you what you need/what your doing.

nice guide. And people....common its a ranged guide. Not a melee or mage guide. He put some ways for you to do barrows with a set inventory and stats, etc. Of course there are ways you can do it cheaper but he didn't want to mention those, as its much harder and obviously you could have figured it out on your own if you do barrows(well too that is).

Just a helpful tip, black dragon hide has better melee defence stats with the same range bonus while karil's has better mage and range def bonus. I think you were trying to get better defence bonus, if so consider adding this. And you should only use pro melee and monkfish, if you are using prayer potions/super restores you are jsut wasting your money, I never use prayer potions at barrows

Ranging isn't that great in barrows, even if you use those bolts, magic is always more effective since they're more weak to that than range, also the veracs method being a lvl 100+ is very effective
