Wouldn't Northern Canada be safe? It has next to nothing for a human population. Just build a fort with a few buddies and bring a stockpile of ammunition and guns in order to protect you from hungry wolves. The downside would be low food rations.

The seventh day, zombies have got past the fence. you continue to shoot them, but all that does is draw more zombies from the surrounding area. You retreat into the house and board the windows up. With seven zombies pressing against them, the windows shatter. you run to the attic, and pull up the ladder. By the 20th day you have died of dehydration and gone mad due to the constant baying of the cursed souls below you, making you unable to sleep.

 

Honestly, you don't want to stay near a town or city. You want to get as far away as possible from places with a high population density.

It rains here at least every fifth day, even during the summer and I can just make a hole in the roof for it to come through so dehydration is no problem.

There are only 62,000 people here in Drammen so I dubt there'll be to many zombies coming, and most of them would have to walk about 5km to get to me.

Drammen is urban in comparison to that it is in Norway, however Norway only has a total of about 14 mill people so it is not too densly populated to survive while still staying near larger cities(unless that city is Oslo or Bergen).

Yes and no:

 

A mace is perfect in the manner that it is a spiked bludgeon weapon, but it is rare and heavy so you're better of

using a somewhat large hammer with some large(spike?) nails ducktaped firmly to it.

The exact reason why axes and hammers were not as effective as spears and sword sin war. They get stuck. Mind, a nice, shortened spear might be good in my opinion, if it is of good quality, andyou aim for the eye sockets/head.

A mammer get stuck? You have hit with a force of at least 500kg+ to manage that, and then the hole head would be splattered so there isn't anything it could be stuck in.

 

Just one question, what would happen if the parasite inside a zombie's brain was released, like if the zombie was beheaded and the jaw was removed (to remove other options) and the skull was surgically opened and left.

 

 

Anyway's I think it's time for a zombie change, what about the HalfLife 2 kind; a headcrab infestation?

According to the zombie survival guide the zombie itself is a new organ-like creature growing inside the frontal lobe.

 

And meleeing a headcrab is not a good idea unless you are Gordon Freeman who(evidentely) rejects their controll.

Basically, if a weapon gets stuck in a zombie, and there is at least one zombie within 5 feet, drop the weapon, use another weapon to fight the zombies, then recover the stuck weapon, if you have another weapon. if not, lure the other zombies away slowly, then run back and recover it. Having the perfect weapon isn't important, as long as you can manage a one hit kill.

Here's something:

 

If you could only have one weapon, what would you choose? (A gun would obviously come with some ammunition, but you'd need to gather more.)

 

After all, gathering gun ammunition could become difficult.

It must be some sort of ranged weapon as if you try to melee a headcrab, it'll only jump onto your head and make you an insta-zombie.

 

Modern compound crossbows with sniper aim firing reinforcement bars maybe? Wonder where I got that idea.

My favourite zombie killing weapon, would (if I were lucky enough to find such a thing) be an easily synthesized aerosol exponentially increasing the rate at which flesh rots =)

Or, of course, one that would specifically kill the zombie parasites.

 

Headcrabs? Hm... the same as the second one, or a flamethrower. Or a PPSH a la WAW zombie mode.

You don't want the first of those on headcrabs though, that'll just make the zombies mutate faster, into what I guess we have to wait until HL3 to see.

What sort of gun do you guys think would be most effective as a zombie killing weapon? I was thinking either a winchester or a classic ak-47.

T'would depend. If you go just by the books a bolt action rifle or a semi automatic rifle might be most effective. A bolt action to the best of my knowledge is rather hard to screw up and easy to clean so that would be preferable for a longer range weapon. The semi automatic weapon is for those of us who cannot aim that well or for dispatching enemies at closer quarters.

If you have the ability to control yourself, semi automatic is better then bolt action. The guide says that the bolt action is only better because it forces you to be careful with every shot, not wasting ammo. If you could do that with a semi, it would be better.
