Ridiculous lag in RuneScape, and its not my NET =S

Featured Replies

Brave, i lag on any server doesn't matter USA, UK, F2P or P2P all the same for me.

OK. It was just a thought. Obviously Jagex has a performance issue with their systems. Hopefully they will be aware of it and will eventually solve the problem.

My only concern now is with the upcoming Summoning skill. This will add even more load onto the systems and if the GE is causing lag problems (which seems likely from what people have said) then Summoning will make it worse.

I was having heavy lag issues just now but I assume it's to do with being in a heavily populated area - I used to get kicked off whenever I went to Falador in world 2 for the same issue, too many people.

Earlier though I was able to play fine for about half an hour then a massive chain of disconnects. (Especially annoying when you're on the last line of a puzzle box and get kicked off after a string of disconnects.)

I will add, though, that it's much better than it used to be. I stopped playing due to the same issue somebody mentioned earlier: walk two or three steps, freezes from lag. Repeat. Walk about ten steps, disconnect. Constantly, no matter what server.

It's a big improvement on that now. This may or may not be due to looking at the ports Runescape requires (which should have been open anyway) and getting a java update. Also, shutting everything else down in the background.

Hope it improves if you're still having an issue, I know it's annoying.

I always lag no matter what... loosing connection while pking, kbding, kqing, or dking is NOT fun, I assure you.

Yayyyyyy...

It's starting to lag almost as much as Planeshift. Try the game yourself and see how laggy it is there.

My pure is what you call a "main".

I got some pretty annoying lagg earlier today, it would just freeze for a couple seconds non stop. After a while it just disconnected then logged me out =/

After I logged back in it was all ok though.

EDIT - Signature far exceeds our sig limits but since it's so colourful you can keep it.

Yea same here for me, since GE came out it's much more rough-like playing on worlds that are normally just smooth in playing :\

Hmm later in the evening it seems to have gotten better, still lagging a little bit, but I'm not losing connection anymore. I hope Jagex does fix this problem because it just seems like more people are lagging then usual.

Must be either the effects of Grand Exchange or they are preparing for Summoning.

I had the same bad lag yesterday, even my friends had it!

Computers will never be above humans because we made them.

That's what monkeys used to say about us.

Horrible lag and Jagex better hurry up and fix this lag issue before I have a cow! <.<

Weekends are the worse when so many people are on.

I have this too.

I notice distinctive sluggish responses, and my character will sometimes walk 5 steps at a time. This wasn't happening a week ago, so why is it?

Hmmm....

I need a new siggy, get round to doing it later.

Probably.
