Cannoning- Quick way to get back pouches [TIP]

Been rcing for a while now and one day I came across someone actually using a cannon in abyss, that gave me an idea. I went to test this theory out and it worked out pretty well. The real abyss is a multi combat area, perfect for cannon, considering as cannon ball prices has also dropped through ge. A cannon can make quick kills of leeches and save time, why not?

EDIT: Added in minimap picture:

In the first picture above from the top, this is so far the "best" spot i found for leeches. Notice that black box there? That should be where you stand while cannoning, all unkilled leeches from the cannon blast will be safespotted north of tendril at the blue box, about 2 monsters can be safespotted at one time for another cannon blast before the 3rd one north becomes too close to cannon to be shot.

The tendrils act as unshootable walls so the cannon won't fire at anything below the red line, you might still want to grab your usual equipment for pouch getting, there are 3 spawns of leeches there you can kill while adding on to your cannon kills for max efficiency. With time saved from getting pouches, you can quickly return to rc to earn back any cash you spend on the cballs.

Be warned that cannon may use 2-3 cballs on a leech even if the 1st ball koed it. Discuss and maybe criticise the disadvantage of this method, or suggest a better spot to place the cannon.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

I've never thought of that. Nice find

If I were ever to become a member again, I think I'll finish that cannon quest and get some cannonballs for the abyss. I was just too lazy to check out the abyss and get the pouches. That'll definitely make rcing a lot easier for me :)

This doesn't work in the abyssal zone from the Fairy Rings?

The ALR abyss zone is not multi combat and you can't really find a lot of leeches in one area at once, if you want to cannon there, you'll have to make sure no abyss monsters are able to hit you at all, otherwise the cannon would only hit the monster that is attacking you. Since the cannon has a pretty far range, it can shoot any guardians or walker which would come and attack you, then you'll have quite a bit of trouble. :-k

It looks like a good idea for getting your pouches back. Besides, if a runcrafter pker comes along and kills you, you will not lose your cannon.

In the abyss, other players cannot attack you.

OT: that sounds great! I hate spending an hour at leeches just to keep getting ess.

You would still lose your cannon, if you get tbed and entangled, you can still lose the cannon parts if you fail to set it up on time, and setting up a cannon requires some movement which you can't while entangled.

Your best bet is still to go the detour route to abyss east of the edgeville bridge.

EDIT: Didn't meant this as a guide... :|

Also remember, a cannon stays in its place till you loggout.

To get the cannon there saftly, (Unskulled) Bring your 4 cannon parts to the abyss, and keep item protection on while you get there. No food and no other items, and a tele. With protect item on, if you do get pked while going to set your cannon up, you will keep all 4 peices.

So go in, set it up, then tele out. Bank, and head back into the abyss with your cballs, food, armor, and such.

Then just rebank when out of cballs/food.

Easy as pie :)

Classifies as tips & other, so it's good. :)

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

combine that with smoke burst or w/e other ancient multi target spell.

Too expensive and not worth it, leeches aren't aggressive so they don't stick together enough to be worth bursting for multi spells.
