Lol, I did some splicing for Fire Emblem portraits (my avatar for example), but this is the first thing I've done completely from scratch... :)

One of the images in the first post was resized so it looks antialiased, but it's still a pixel.

 

 

 

Anyway, I quite like it. It's pretty simple, but the shading is effective and it doesn't look bad.

Of course you can still use the paint bucket tool when pixeling, so the description isn't 100% accurate.

 

 

 

But really, believe me, it's a pixel. :P

Nice work, i think you have the "touch" on how things should look, and with practice you can definately be good, but remember, unless you really burn for it pixel sigs are tedious work and takes a lot of time to finish.

Hmm.. honestly, it's rather odd that you took so much time anti-aliasing the inside of the sword, but didn't even bother to do the outside..

Tell that to some people on Pixel Joint, and they would kill you 10 times over. :XD: Something that's photoshopped's completely different from something in paint.

Okay, I did cut a few corners, like doing part of one side of the sword with cut and paste, and using the paintbucket and line tools. It was my knowledge that a pixel drawing was an image that was made to look realistic without using photoshop tools like dodge and burn, and lighting tools. It seemed somewhat similar to spriting.
