Anyone one else quitting?

With the recent updates I have found my self not really wanting to play Runescape anymore. I havent played for over 1 month now but was going to start again in January. I played Runescape to hang out with friends and my cousin was really one of the main reasons. But now that I cant give out free gifts to him or my friends I do not see much point for me to go back. It is like Jagex is taking out all interaction between players with the trade limit and the GE. I think that the trade limit could be taken away for people that have been friends for a month or more. That seems like quite a reasonable idea.

Please do not turn this into a topic saying "Get over it" or "Learn to Deal with change". This is my decision and unless Jagex makes some amazing change I do not see myself playing anytime soon or ever again. I would like for you to share your opinions on the updates and how they effected you.

1. Anyone else care that you are quitting?

2. If all 50K alleged "players" quit that say they are, AND bother to write a "I am quitting how about you?" thread, the forums will be nothing but the same thread over and over.... :-k #-o hmmm could be to late as it seems every player who has this enlightening moment, feels the need to tell us, each and every one of you.....quit if that is your desire, hit that little "X" button...and move on about your day.

Jagex themselves have said that it cannot go any further on that side, the next updates will always be good for the players, they have said.

As for me, I kinda like most of those updates.

+1

Also, threads like this are an ufair reflection on people's opinions. People who are going to quit are far more likely to post here than people who aren't. It gives a skewed perspective. The actual number that quit can been seen by watching the number of players on the main RS page. A drop of 10% so far (which is probably mostly bots and gold farmers)

+2 I agree 100%

Im not going to quit for along time.... i will accomplish level 126 before i quit runescape.

The only thing ive noticed is i seem to be playing abit more WoW now than the amount i used to. I will also give JaGeX abit of time to sort out the updates which they definitely will.

It was a better idea to completly kill RWT than to spend months finding a viable solution which killed RWT while keeping all player happy.

There was a thread here about 2 months ago that showed how RWT actuly costs JaGeX huge sums of money each year and if you can find it (i havnt been able to) is a great read on how RWT actuly affects JaGeX itself.

So give it a few weeks to try and sort out the trade limit as they certainly will in some way good.

I won't quit RS just because of a few updates, but I can understand that these updates has been horrible for some people. And if these people no longer find RS any fun, then of course they shouldn't play the game.

These updates were amongst the best in my opinion.

RWT was a significant problem amongst the Runescape community, and it needed to be solved. I never really staked, PK'ed, or did much anything except wander around, playing an occasional game of CW, or doing a bit of training, before getting bored, and logging off.

I remember the first day these updates came out, I was at Clan Wars, and a Jagex Mod logged in. He was immediately spammed with "N0 P4Y 1F N0 PK!" "Omgz u guys ruind roonscape" "bring bak PK!" "You sukz!" and other illiterate gibberish. The Mod tried explaining that you could still PK, you just had to do it in the Bounty Hunter areas. This, of course, was promptly drowned out by more whining morons who couldn't be bothered to read an update post, explaining why Jagex was forced to do this.

Its sad what the RS community has come to.

Lego's would be a nice addition to Construction. ^_^

I never asked people if they cared if I was quitting. I am sure no one but my cousin does since I gave him most of his items and cash since I had it to spare. I understand where you are coming from but I found your post a little bit rude.

Why in the world would anyone want to quit? This was the best update ever.

Because I cant really do much with my friends or cousin anymore because items and cash can not be trade unless I am going to go around and give my level 100 friends iron armor.

Ok ya, I keep forgetting the trading thing. That part just plain stinks IMO. When I say "best update ever" I'm being a little one-sided in that doing away with player killing is the "best" part.

Why is doing away with PKing the "Best Part"?

i'm actually starting all over again. :-w

dunno why people would hate these updates so much, they aren't really that hard to cope with...

Unless you're like me and months of training a hybrid have been destroyed.

just get a makeshift team on whatever bounty world you on

they are coming out with pking mini games and solo pking things right? you could strive to be a top ranking layer in those categories, as i'm sure theyd have highscore tables for that seeing all the new mini games.

pures weren't initially intended for the game anyways. there are lots of other games where "pure" players eventually die out due to updates focused on regular playing. even now, if your hybrid has better stats than your main, wallah, a newer, better main. not a total loss i suppose.

that's just my opinion though.

That works real well when you're level 57 in a sea of fully-geared 90+ players.

well this game was (and apparently still is) intended for those who raise all stats. pures were only built for one thing, killing players whose stats were too low to do significant damage while yours was enough to maybe two hit them? you can argue that pures were designed to get the highest hits and completely exploit a low levels potential and make fighting as intense as possible. you would, however, be lying to yourself. pures were designed to pick on "weaker" players and obtain their items. they gave up one thing to do this... defence. now that defence is apparently a factor, pures are unhappy with this. well, i don't want to say it's your fault but... ehhh... yeah...

Well actually I fought higher levels as well with my hybrid. And at times I could be pretty successful, properly equipped... It wasn't about just owning lower levels for me. It was about reaping the rewards of good timing or strategy combined with my power. It was also about surviving with minimal defense (I am still quite peeved that I accidentally got 2).
