nonpkiller
When I first saw this topic, I thought yellow, duh! But then after thinking about it, I've seen the old crusty tennis balls that are like 10 yrs old that have turned green. I think if you go to wal-mart and buy any tube of tennis balls, it's undeniablly (sp) yellow. ;)

Omnislash42
Tennis balls are yellow :P Youve gotta realize, most popular pro courts are grass and popular recreation courts are hardcourt, and it has to stick out. Therefore yellow.

Scruffy5389
As specified on the International Tennis Federation's website, the rules of tennis (direct link to pdf - 1.6 megs) state that: The ball shall have a uniform outer surface consisting of a fabric cover and shall be white or yellow in colour. If there are any seams they shall be stitchless.(Appendix I, part a. Found on Page 18, which is the 21st sheet of the document.) Hehe, owned. They are YELLOW. :P You can't possibly say this is green. I can't honestly say that that is what the tennis balls I use look like. All mine are green.
Pyro
It varies. Some are yellow and some are green. I've never seen any green ones used in professional tennis though, but that could just be because I hardly ever watch it.

Pete_the_Viscous
OK, I'm about to be intensely hypocritical (I AM colourblind), but: I think you're the colourblind one. Those balls are yellow*--check them on Paint. *in that they're on the yellow side of the yellow-green area of the munsell color tree. deviantart account

BlueLancer
The question "what color are tennis balls" is as stupid as "what color is hair". There is not one single official answer. Though, as pointed out on the thread yellow is the ball colour used in all professional tournaments and matches. Non-pro ones might be green ones, why does it matter? I'm not going to lie and say "it matters so that I can see it better on the tennis court". B.S... Even if it was 5x smaller than a normal tennis ball and it'd exactly match the color of the court, probably most people with good vision would see it. The color doesn't matter.
