If like in this case the background is blue it looks greenish (see bottom of tennis ball) If the light or background is more reddish then the ball will seem orangey. You can buy proper green and orange balls but most of the time they are actually yellow and merely look slightly tinted. Which is probably why they appear green to me, as I've only ever played on green clay courts. Though I would agree, they are yellow. May 12, 200521 yr So perhaps what you're saying is depending on location? Where I live majority of the tennis balls I see are a yellowy green. You're saying where you live, its the opposite. So I'm thinking it depends on the location now lol, I dunno!!! :oops: :? :x It would depend on the supplyer if your in a diffrent country from me its doutfull that your balls come from the same supplyer. altho there will be some brands that are shipped globally. ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002

May 16, 200521 yr x_bisaya_x: The majority of light that we see is blue. Tennis balls that are florescent tend to reflect a lot of this blue light, hence the greenish appearance. It is indeed yellow.
