____
Yellow. Although I bought a pack from a non-sports store just to use in the surf (really low grade hardly bounce types) and they were: Orange, blue, black and green. So, *shrug*.

misterxman
This sounds just like the debate "who came first, the chicken or the egg", a question for the ages. But what the heck, I'll say yellow. Pixel sigs by me.Pixel Art
cluck
As specified on the International Tennis Federation's website, the rules of tennis (direct link to pdf - 1.6 megs) state that: The ball shall have a uniform outer surface consisting of a fabric cover and shall be white or yellow in colour. If there are any seams they shall be stitchless.(Appendix I, part a. Found on Page 18, which is the 21st sheet of the document.) Hehe, owned. They are YELLOW. :P You can't possibly say this is green. IT'S GREEN! OWNED! I'm kidding. I believe it's yellow.

Pete_the_Viscous
This is the result of the first google images thing: All of the balls here are yellow--check them on paint if you don't agree. I myself really couldn't have said they would be yellow--I'd never really thought about whether they were green or yellow--but that's neither here nor there. I'm guessing that the most conventional colour is yellow, but that obviously doesn't stop you getting other colours. deviantart account

thingummywut
Tennis balls green?! I've always thought they are plain bright yellow. I wonder how so many of you can disagree with me in this matter :?
Futurama
I think it depends greatly at what light you look at it in. From this picture, we can see that both apparent greens and yellows can be picked up by photoshop : I think the best thing to say is, greeny yellow - at least for the greeny yellow kind. Bmw
Ok, time to settle this matter. The AVERAGE tennis ball you buy is a yellowy green. The professional tennis balls are greeny yellow. Most people do not spend a lot buying pro tennis balls, and usually settle for the average tennis ball found in a local shop, which is probably green. Therefore, a tennis ball used by the average person is green, while a tennis ball used by a professional tennis player is more likely to be yellow. Agreed? :? :P

Growing up we only played with green tennis balls. However the games we played usually had us whipping the balls at one another as hard as possible rather than hitting them with a racquet  I know the price. I pay it gladly. I am not a pro and all the balls I buy are yellow. The only green tennis balls I've seen are the ones that are dead and have been played with for years, which isn't a good idea, and the ones people give to their dogs. If I saw green balls when I opened a canister, I would seriously go to the cash register and demand my money back.

DaN
well they could be called green in the same way a watermelon could be called red. If you skin a tennis ball youll probable find them to be green underneath the yellow skin. tennis balls are yellow in general 99% of them altho you can buy pink, red, blue, green, white or black Ok, time to settle this matter. Bmw
So perhaps what you're saying is depending on location? Where I live majority of the tennis balls I see are a yellowy green. You're saying where you live, its the opposite. So I'm thinking it depends on the location now lol, I dunno!!! :? :x
Phil
'How long is a peice of string?' 'What colour is a tennis ball?' Obviously there is no definite answer to this question. There are different shades of tennis ball whever you go.
