January 4, 200818 yr Farming is definitely. I believe it is the most expensive skill of all. Do you know why? Because it drains the very essence of your soul to train.
January 6, 200818 yr ~Herblore cost me 150M, Farming (well, buying it...) cost me around the same. You can sell some of what you Farm though.~

January 6, 200818 yr Yea but with new ge prices, it's MUCH easier and quicker (and less expensive) to do herblore then farming
January 6, 200818 yr Farming doesn't seem to cost as much as herblore because it takes much more time to level than herblore. You could theoretically go from 1 to 99 herblore in less than a week, but farming would take many months, no matter how fast you tried to train it.
January 6, 200818 yr Everyone has this fixed idea that Farming must be bought. You guys think you must use the best seeds to train. That is the flaw of why everything thinks Farming costs the most. I myself have Farmed 5k Dwarf Weeds getting 99, which makes my total net loss 10M. If I were to get 99 Herblore right now, I would lose 100m+ using even the cheapest of methods. I've seen lots of people throwing away good seeds like sweetcorn, whiteberry and mid-level herbs at the master farmers. I'd like to thank them for sponsoring me to get 80+ farming in half the time as I expected.
January 10, 200818 yr Herby is too damn expensive and farming is too damn boring. BR BR BR? HUEHUEHEUEHUE
January 10, 200818 yr Everyone has this fixed idea that Farming must be bought. You guys think you must use the best seeds to train. That is the flaw of why everything thinks Farming costs the most. That is what I don't get...many people have the idea that all skills must be bought ...you can train anything for free if you are willing to spend the time ...I have never bought an herb or a seed ...either kill monsters or thief for what I need ...not saying this makes me any better than anyone else ...and it definitely takes a lot longer, but no skill has to be all that expensive. To answer your question though, if you were to buy all your supplies, I think herblore is more expensive than farming. Like Manoman said, a lot of decent seeds can be gained for free by hanging out in Draynor and picking them up when others drop them.
