I agree Halo 2 had the worst story ever and the most unbalenced online gameplay ive seen in a very long time. I think the Bungie played team slayer the whole time they were supposed to be making a decent storyline and ending for the game :roll:

Lmao, I remember that. We had 2 normal controllers in our home and one like that. It was so frustrating when I was playing a fighting/sports game against my friend and the controlled jammed or lagged even though I kept repeating those little buttons. It worked on a maybe 2 meter radius, anything over that and it severely lagged, misintepreted or ignored the commands. If you haven't played Mario games since the second you were born like a lot of us, then yeah you probably wont pay attention to the details or the magnificentness of some features.in the mario games (I can still remember every single music in Super Mario Bros 3 even though the last time I actively played it was when I was a little kid), so in that way Shigeru Miyamoto brainwashed a lot of kids into Nintendo loyalists.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The appeal in Mario games is that usually it's 99% action and 1% talk which means the games are made for the exact reason games SHOULD be made for: Passing time and entertaining yourself/your friends/your family, not watching 10 minute video clips, remembering long sentences just to open a doorway in the game... And it's suitable for all ages so you can play it even with a 3 year old because it has practically 0% violence etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I wouldn't say Mario is childish. Implying that is like saying 'adults can't watch cartoons'. It's just that some adults find watching cartoons amusing. It's entertaining and they're sometimes fun to watch. Some Nintendo games have that same appeal. But then again there is Resident Evil 0, Final Fantasy CC, and other "non-childish" games.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I own all of the 3 major consoles of today (Xbox, Gamecube, PS2) and without any bias I can say most Nintendo games have more entertainment value than the games I've played on either Xbox or PS2. I would even rank PS2 above Xbox because XB was a great disappointment due to it's lack of good games (Halo was ok but it *seriously* needs more good content games). Replay value is also very important, and Xbox doesn't do too well in this category.

What I think that dude was saying is that the Wavebird was the first wireless controller that used radio waves instead of Infrared; thus, it was able to work without a direct line of sight, and at a farther rate, even farther than Nintendo expected. Just because something is high in the numbers and gets high 'ratings', it in no way makes the thing better. Shrek outsold thousands of quality movies and was one of the most succesful movies in 2004 and got rave reviews, quite honestly it was a steaming pile of ...., just because something is "popular" it doesn't mean it's automatically good.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And I beg to differ, I believe Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64) is the most preordered game ever and also the best ratings (just about all 5/5, 10/10, 99/100 etc), not sure what's the definition of "big" though so can't comment on that. If it's media value and hype, that has no meaning except to get more suckers into buying a game instead of deciding yourself what to buy and what not. I don't buy a game based on how much people or the media talk about it. It doesn't make a game any better.

No, it doesn't make it better, but I'd buy a game with good reviews sooner than a game with bad reviews. After all the guys/girls who are testing and reviewing them (in magazines) are suposed to know something of it, right? :) It also depends on how much money you have, if you don't have a very large budget it's more likely that you buy the "must-have" games, instead of buying a game without good reviews on good luck.

Biggest doesn't necessarily make it good, and the fact that a lot of people play it doesn't make it good. Fifa 2004 was the best selling game of 2004, but that was typical EA rubbish. It got high reveiws, but so do other rubbish games, such as Call of Duty, dull movie cash ins, and the Fifa series. As the others say, Ocarina beats it in ever way. It is THE best game ever. I bet the highest review it got was in Xbox Offical magazine, aka fanboy monthly.

I'll probably be buying a PS3. In my history of consoles, i've owned sega's, nintendo's, and sony's, and without a shadow of a doubt, the best overall is the Sony. I like the games, i like the controller, i've never had a problem with either of the sony systems i've owned, so i really see no reason why the new ps3 should be any different.

The only thing that bugs me about the ps3 is the controller. It just looks uncomfortable, i don't see why they changed from the analogue controllers they use now, which are pretty much perfect in my opinion.
