My 25

So I was playing PC (newbie boat because 107cb isn't high enough to tag along with the guys in the vet boat :( ) and I was doing my usual thing attacking a portal when one the other players attacking it with me hits a 25 on the portal and says "My 25". And I'm thinking "great no one asked/cared but whatever". So I say "My I don't care", he laughed and said "Noob much?".

 

Which didn't make any sense seeing as I was higher cb than he was and higher total than he was, I'm not a new player, and I didn't make any newbie mistakes so calling me this was totally [developmentally delayed]ed. And I wouldn't have minded if he had been like 85cb and that was his max but he was closer to my cb so a 25 shouldn't be anything special. So to sum it all up don't call out ur hits if they are nothing special and stop calling people who aren't noobs, noobs.

the "my 25" remark is pretty laughable though it does just bring a smile to my face when people inform the world they have hit, i normally go with Gratz but i think often my sarcasism is lost on them

or to make things easier...JUST IGNORE THEM, we don't need an ignore list unless they go out of control. But yeah, just don't respond to something like that. It happens a lot and the best thing to do is let him enjoy his high...ish hit and move on...maybe hit a 25 of your own and say "that one was mine" or something to get into a competitive mood, idk. I made a friend doing that -.- but he ended up hitting like 60...but thats besides the point...

There are a lot of immature players in the game who insist on doing stupid things and annoying the hell out of everyone. In this case, yes he was being immature by saying he got 25 but whatever. All you had to do was to not say anything. Ignore him. People in Runescape always go on about how people annoy them, but more often than not they don't even ignore them. It's a simple thing to do. In runescape you have the time to think about your response before you type it. You can actually fully ignore someone. So instead of being immature and saying that you could of just ignored him. Simply done. He wouldn't of called you a noob and nothing would of happened.

The whole point of this section of the forum is so that gamers can come here and talk about something that got under their skin (in this case the being called a noob). If a gamer came here and said people with purple hair in runescape are ridiculous they could do that if they wanted to. The only thing you are obligated to do as a fellow Tip It member is read the post, try to see where they are coming from, and post a reply, not tell them they are in the wrong for posting something that wasn't "worthy".

Players calling each other noobs is a commonplace in Runescape and nothing we haven't heard of a thousand times over in this section and among the "Noobs say the funniest things" thread.

 

 

 

Point is, you made a stupid comment to a player, and now you're going to come here and cry and look for emotional support because he used the big bad N word. Get over yourself, there are a lot more pressing issues that need threads on the rants section, like why Jagex takes so long to start muting mass amounts of people who "riot" with fake accounts so their mains are safe.

I've had this kinda thing happen to me alot. some1 lower leveled calls me a noob, and i just cant resist insulting him in one way or another (preferably making him look like a fool). I think that people who call other people noobs are the noobs, but calling some1 a noob who has played more than you and is more experienced is just plain stupid. I'ts like calling a lvl 3 mod (yes, they do exist) a noob, its just plain asking for trouble.

Actually, Omali has a point. I can understand your situation, that you were provoked into saying that, but I can seriously point out several other threads that deal with people calling other people noobs. We don't really need a new thread every time someone wants to rant about Player A calling Player B a noob, etc...

You still seem to be missing the point of this whole section, you see when someone gets pissed/angry they come here and say what pissed them off. Who knows maybe someone else gets angry at it too. Back to the subject at hand. Both of you have a point. The guy who said My 25 was being a bit of an idiot, but when it comes down to it, you didn't have to respond to him. You just lowered yourself down to his level, giving him the excuse to call you a noob. I don't get why people find the word noob so insulting. I mean, say it to yourself and tell me whether you find it insulting. It sounds like the sort of word a 5 year old would say and there are people out there who find that insulting. Sure, it is very annoying, but come on, don't we have more common sense than to get insulted by a word like noob.

Oh yeah, does it really matter if you hit the portal or not? I personally have full void with mage helm. It doesn't matter what you hit as long as

 

A) Void knight doesn't die, he often does due to people just wanting to max

 

B) You get 50 zeal

 

C) Spinners are killed quickly and don't heal portals at a crucial time
