June 13, 200818 yr I'm considering to go on a 99 Smithing journey. I'd like to know the Fastest method (regardless of price), the Cheapest method (regardless of speed), and the Effective method (50/50 between speed/money). This is for a 10hp character, so quests will be minimal.
June 13, 200818 yr Fastest that does is reasonal is Mithril plates. Cheapest... would have to be cannonballs. Effective is superheating gold. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
June 13, 200818 yr Fastest that does is reasonal is Mithril plates. Cheapest... would have to be cannonballs. Effective is superheating gold. no family crest for him, its a lv3 as for speed, addy plates would be faster, he's not bothered about price
June 13, 200818 yr Author Let's put it this way, I'm willing to spend up to 70m for completion, if necessary. What do you recommended?
June 13, 200818 yr Disregarding money, I'd suggest addy bolts (unf)...finish them if you want to Disregarding speed, cannonballs. I haven't tried this, but i've heard making swords is a cost-effective way. you only use 1 bar, and it gives the most return if alched...idk
June 13, 200818 yr Author Disregarding money, I'd suggest addy bolts (unf)...finish them if you want to Yes, I was advised to do Mith Bolts -> 70 but I guess I could do them to 73 and then switch over. I'll have to calculate the cost. Anyone else? EDIT - After calculating, 192,665 Adamant Bars are needed from 73-99. Surely, there is a quicker way?
June 14, 200818 yr Author How well do Addy Bolts and/or Plates sell? If there is a market for them, might be worth getting into.
June 14, 200818 yr No gold gaunts, eh? Hm... For speed, doing addy plates is it. But keep in mind that Smithing is an expensive skill ALREADY. Cheap would be making cannonballs. You make a lot of cash doing that, so you may want to consider doing a few k so that that profit can pay for other techniques. I would go with Mithril Bolts. You lose a very small amount, if you feather them. And it's fairly fast exp.
June 14, 200818 yr Somebody agrees with my policy on making and fletching mith bolts. Well it's Ryder, not a big shock  Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
June 14, 200818 yr just keep making the best plate which u can at your level...that would be the fastest disregarding cost incurred.... maxed out melee on 10/10/08, current goal: 94/99 cookinglife may be unfair, but why can't it be unfair in my favor?my fake plant died because i forgot to pretend to water it
June 14, 200818 yr Bolts are hard to sell now-adays. *Gold... I guess is a no-go. * Mithril plates - Not even close to enough money. * Addy plates - Don't bother... * Cannonballs- Xp is just... too slow All in all, I would smith adamant/mithril bolts, and keep them in the ge. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
June 14, 200818 yr Do mith/addy bolts to 88. If you have the money to spend and really want this fast, do addy plates. I had a friend lose like 40m from 88-99. But its very costly.
June 14, 200818 yr Welcome to the quest for 99 Smithing :) I would have to say Smithing Addy Platebody's is the fastest when you can (Level 88) Smelthing Iron Bars is most effective (9 gp made per exp) In between is anything Mithril, I'd say Gold but you havn't done the Quests Whatever you do, Good Luck
June 14, 200818 yr Author Do Adddy Plates resell decently enough? If not, what about alching? What's my best choice?
June 14, 200818 yr Bolts are your best option with your budget, but gold bars are the best way to go if your willing to make some cash. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
June 14, 200818 yr Do Adddy Plates resell decently enough? If not, what about alching? What's my best choice? They sell good enough but it's better to alch them yourself. [404] Signature not found.
June 14, 200818 yr The cheapest way is smelting ores, you can make a profit by buying ores on the grand exchange and then selling bars. I found iron plates fast/not that costly up until level 70, where i'm staying at for a bit. Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!
June 14, 200818 yr How well do Addy Bolts and/or Plates sell? If there is a market for them, might be worth getting into. Addy bolts sell OK as rune bolts are a rip off. Addy plates sell to alchers but it's a huge loss. Trust the Gene Genie!
