Alching; Where?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I'm planning to alch for a bit to get up my mage level, but I'm wondering what the best place to do that is. I don't really mind randoms, so I'd like a place where I would be able to make some money by just standing around.

Ideas I have already:

Telegrabbing zammy wines while alching. I don't really know their price, but I guess it's good.

Picking cactus spines. How fast do they respawn?

Any other good places?

If you don't mind randoms, I personally hop onto a castle wars world, and watch [developmentally delayed]s battle it out and yell at each other.

Hmm, I'd like to make some money while doing it.

If I want to be entertained I'll alch in Verac's tomb, not that boring and no randoms.

As for the agility thing, I tried that, but it was too much agility and not enough alching for my taste.

Using macaw to forage herbs while alching?

I do that.

Yeah, that is always good.

I also like to have thieve the nature chest, which I found can cover costs of alchs if you remember to thieve it. I, myself, got very bored alching, so I ended it there, but I liked that spot best. It in a house above Ard if I remember correctly. :D

Hmm, killing Salarin seems like a good idea, and I can bring a macaw there too.

He's only vulnerable to strike spells, isn't he?

Lol, I can also wear an accumulator so I get some steel arrows :D .

And Devoted, how fast does that chest respawn on a full world?

The second floor of the house just north of Ardougne church, the west chest.

That is where it is at, from the Tip.It Guide.

As for how much time it takes to respawn, unfortunately, I can't remember, but I thought it was fairly fast. If I had to guess I would guess 2 minutes, possibly 10 at max, but that could be totally off. I just remember I was surprised how frequently I could steal from the chest. I also found that I could cover the costs of alching by thieving these nats, then reselling. I couldn't tell you if this is still accurate, since I can't remember what I alched nor what the prices of nats were back then.

Best of luck! :)

You can try at godwars (just get a piece of clothing for each type of monster)

Im pretty sure there is no randoms there.

WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME

#1 Wongtong stalker.

Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

The Ardougne nature chest (1 stair up at eastern sit of Ardougne quare) is where I did quite a lot of alching. It has 2 chests, one with the nature rune + 3 gp or so, and the other giving 30gp or so. I found that you can thieve every 3 alchs from the chest, and every 10 alchs or to from the gp-only chest.

I guess you can take a macaw with you for extra profit, although I don't know wether it works because it is "indoors". Also, an accumilator could give you some steel arrows, but it'll be few of them, since you'll be stationary most of the time.

When gathering whiteberries in the elven lands, I took 40 or so alchs every run, since you can alch and run ate the same time. You can alch in between spawns, and by the time you have an inventory full, you have the 2 extra spaces available for whiteberries. Teleport to Lleyta bank, rinse, repeat.

Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

how much are white berries now?

White berries are 555gp middle price in the G.E

Honestly, the best place in front of a television... preferably one with Shotime On Demand :)

Personally, I alch in the bank in the ghost town near Pirate Pete. It's quite and noone will bug you to talk so you can just watch TV in peace.

Lol maybe near a addy or rune ore spot (if you can mine either), you don't need to hop and can make steady cash while you alch. I do this in f2p sometimes when I need to make up lost cash.

Just alch where there is inherent idleness. Look at your routine and look for moments of idleness (though you probably know this by now).

I choose to alch while hunting. Well, I'm a lv 31 hunter, so the tropical wagtails come slowly. And it's more about the hunting rather than the alching.

You could easily train mage exp in pest control with a fire staff, guarding the knight. If there's no pests around, start alching.

Alch while walking to craft air runes? And mine gold at the crafting guild?

*has spent too much time in f2p. :o *

I alch in front of the spice stall in Ardougne. (Level 65 thieving) On a busy world you can steal a spice every 12 to 14 alchs. If you get caught just kill the guard, might get a clue :)

Spice

Current market price range:

Minimum price: 325 Market price: 342 Maximum price: 359

Change in price:

7 Days: -3.6% 30 Days: -0.5%

If you are high enough to steal gems, (level 75 thieving) you can steal a gem for approximately every 3 spice you steal.

---------------------------------------------------

I sometimes opt to alch in yanille walking back and forth from the food store and buy chocolate bars and sell them to the grand exchange.

If you want to get more cash, grind those bars up before you sell.
