Rune pick axe and arrowheads really not the colour of the ones ingame. They are too bright, and have no shading on them at all. Most of the objects are out of proportion. The moon isn't really circular, if the whole thing was there.

Alright for a first pixel.

It's definitely not great, but at least you shaded some parts which is quite rare for a first attempt. The colours definitely need chancing though, they're way too bright for a night scene (did you know that you can edit the default colours in MS Paint by double-clicking them?). Other than that, some parts need a lot more detail/better shading, like the grass. You can't just make a green blob, shade it roughly and expect it to look realistic. Same problem with the tree and moon really, they both look really sloppy.

But it's some start, just look at some pixel tutorials (can be found here on TIF) and keep practising.

What's wrong with the moon?

It looks really squeezed, and the colour is strange. It isn't supposed to look like it's made of cheese.

also a few tips:

try making your stars more of a + and not a .

the moon should be more c and not (

don't use bright colors, look at pictures, or outside to decide what colors to use

try to make things more smooth and curved, not jaggedy (unless it is supposed to be lol)

New Sig Coming soon!

Hmm destro's re make is certainly good for advice look at some pixel tuts her on the gallery index, keep at it though :)

It isn't great, but it shows a bit of potential. Remember, you can't see through the ground to see the roots. If you want the roots coming at you however, they should get a little bit darker or lighter depending on your light source. I would shorten the roots up a little bit too. Your light source is the moon and it is coming from behind, so, everything else should be shaded accordingly. Your sky is only one colour, more colors would be better. Have it getting brighter around the moon. Look at your tree, then look at your staff & bow + arrows. That is either a hell of a short tree or a huge bow.

My hint, look for a tree in your backyard, get a large stick and some other junk and arrange it into the pattern then sketch it and put it on paper. That should help with your proportions. They are a little off right now :P.

Got bored while working on something else, so I thought I would take a shot at a quick remake.

you should never attempt to insert a floppy disk in a 56X CD-ROM drive, as floppy disk shrapnel hurts

That looks great Mastersigmaker. The moon is spectacular, and I like the roots of the tree popping out of the ground.

OT: So, in master's case, in creating a sliver of the moon, it wouldn't look as long as yours. It would look more roundish.

Oh, my god. That is a major improvement.

However, the blue around the moon looks kind of funny, I would make it a bit more gradual.

You know that master is a different person from the OP, right? The OP hasn't even responded yet.

Anyways, my first tip? Learn how to spell the word Pixel. Aside from that, eh, it's incredibly empty and very basic. Read up a bit more on pixel art before attempting again.

only have ms paint btw

sigh.

The remake is looking much better, but I'm not sure about the grey on the left side of the tree. The moon looks really good though

IT'S A TRAP SHINY JUST WANTS TO STALK YOU.

Hell yeah I do. Whats your msn?

That's how it all starts.

Next he's going to ask you what flavor of candy you enjoy and whats your favorite color van.

Master, you can't just remake his siggy without asking him.. unless you both are the same person??

First one ~ It ain't good, mate. The text and moon be the weakest parts.

Second ~ You dither too much, there's no shadows on the ground, the linework is a bit messy, and why be one half of the sky darker than the rest? Plus, you need to shade the sky(light towards horizon) and the moon shouldn't ever be in the corner...

Not bad, for a first. I give 6/10 kitties, yah still need much work.

only have ms paint btw

*headdesk* Well, if you treat it like a handicap., you'll nevah get anywhere methinks.

Unoalexi, this is a joke right? I would hardly consider an unfinished example missing half the original content to be a remake.

And while you busy berating me, don't forget to go nag destro3979 for his moon remake as well. To be honest I don't think Great_one is going to call me out on this one. Its not like I was taking credit for his work. Hell, I don't even take credit for my own work let alone other peoples.

I dither too much?? I don't dither enough.

im with unlo on this one, you dither way to much. besides the point of remaking someone else's pixel is pointless.
