Skull
I don't know, the phone I got free with my plan is pretty solid, it can take a hell of a beating unlike the iphone. I couldn't imagine paying $200 for a phone just to have it break the first time you go out working. My personal opinion: don't get the iphone, go for a cheaper, more durable alternative. As for money, I suggest saving a good bit of money you make for something you might want later. Say if you make $10 doing some work, set aside half of it incase you want something later. As a 15 year old, I have enough money for almost anything I could want (other than a car :x ) just by saving the money I make. And no, I don't get obnoxious amounts of money for doing nothing, never gotten money for doing regular chores in my life. Saving is a very important thing to be able to do. Lenin64
My phone was the free-wth-plan one, it's taken a helluva beating and still works. It also came with this awesome moving solar system background, high-detail planets and everything. To me, an iPhone is just bourgeois splurging, not really much different from a regular phone except you can go on the internet (that's what computers are for, anyway) and the high price tag. I guess I'm the only one here who would nurture a knife interest. :| Command the Murderous Chalices! I guess I'm the only one here who would nurture a knife interest. :| after july 11, it will go down to 200. which is cheap for a fancy phone. if you look at the blackberry pearl, its 200 WITH the renewal of plan. without, its 350. so quit saying its over priced. And yay for knife loving!
Range_This11
Every person should know the uses and benefits of knives. Non-lethal ones to humans of course. My dad taught me a lot of it when I was 8 or so. We would go camping; it's amazing what you can do with a knife. rushrock
Yeah I agree with Lenin. I guess the cool gadgets and extras are cool sometimes and to some people, but all in all I'd rather have a sturdy, reliable phone that would last me a long time and use the money on something cooler, like those knives. I want the throwing stars and some katanas. A more sturdy blade like a shortsword/longsword or perhaps a broadsword would be cool too, as well as a spear. Spears would be nice. Or a flail. Ooh, ooh, a ranged weapon! Yeah, sweet. Guns are nice, but something more manual like a bow and arrow or a crossbow. That would be awesome. I would love to play target practice in my backyard with those, increase my accuracy. Great times. I might actually look into this. I'll ask my dad. He's kind of touchy on these things though, and OP, your dad's leniency on weapons is something I really envy. Ooh, a slingshot! Cool! My friend has one of those. His dad is a big hunter, and I think he is too. You know, his house has a bunch of firearms. He lives on a farm. My friend himself has a bunch of airsoft guns, a bow and arrow, that slingshot, and other things. We took his airsoft shotgun and went "fishing" in his nearby lake. That was cool. Lenin64
^Throwing knives are powerful fun and take great skill, they're not your point-and-shoot weapon. Tons of variables; throw strength, distance to target, rate of spin. The reason I sink most of mine is because I've found my "sweetspot" distance and just the right power. They're frustrating at first, but worth it. Command the Murderous Chalices! rushrock
Now imagine actually having to use them for their original purpose! :D But I see what you mean. The shapes, the variability. I've seen them look like playing cards. That's awesome. You'd have to take all of that into account to accurately calculate your throw: the power, the atmosphere/area, the holes, size, and shape of the projectile, the way you hold it, I'll bet it's complicated but as you say, worth it in the end. Besides you'll never know when you need a chunk of money and you spent it on a worthless Iphone.

Kriegsmier
i find posts with knife collection pics a little disturbing. am i supposed to be impressed? they just look like cutlery (no pun intended) Knives ARE cutlery. Disturbing why and how? You want to believe we live in a squishy nice peaceful world with care bears running around and us floating on clouds? People own guns and knives as well as collect them, get over it IMO. Why collect if you arn't going to show your collection off?
