Rock Band 2: The Opening Act

Wow, and RB didn't even come out that long ago.

I guess they're milking Guitar Hero and Rock Band for all they're worth now..there's a lot of GH games to be coming out. They just released GH: Aerosmith, then they've got GH 4 and the DS one, and there's been rumors of GH: Metallica for 360, PS2/3, and Wii. :geek: And now Rock Band 2?

It's starting to get pretty old now. :shame:

Point is RB2 ... Was bound to happen ..

I caved in and got this game and its bloody epic.

Completely different from the guitar hero experince and its aimed at such a bigger group .. And less little prats.

Yeah, I've played RB. I don't own it, but I played it when my neighbor had it over. It was fun, but not worth $200 in my opinion. The point I'm saying though is that it seems that they're trying to milk the whole music industry and the whole...whateveryoucallit that Guitar Hero (most recently) started. I think they should focus more on DLC for the games instead of releasing new games. And for the people who don't have internet access, maybe discs for $20 or so with DLC?

And its the fact people enjoy the games .. Like people did with halo.

Its when they take it to gears / gh level and make £40 games for expansions and merch ... esp with gears all the merch / figures ...

But yes £15 dlc discs would be a good idea ... Say like 20 tracks or something.

That's a custom GH track, in this case, it's Panic Attack. Just to get an idea of what it might be like on Hard/Expert (4 fret chords? Yikes.)

But Dream Theater and System of a Down CONFIRMED?! It's just too bad that I don't have a system they're releasing Rock Band 2 on. Oh well. At least that means they'll be on FoF for sure

If they have this song on Rock Band 2 I'll crap my pants.

And my fingers will be bleeding from trying so hard to get that song.

That or I take the easy way out by doing vocals.

Jeez, only a few months after a first release?

This makes them worse than Bungie. I mean, the Halo series went on for too long, but I mean c'mon? a few months after the first is released?

At least with Halo they made improvements that couldn't be patched in/provided with DLC (More specifically regarding Online Multiplayer, Halo:CE didn't have it, Halo 2 needed improvements, and I can't find any flaws with the current online multiplayer, despite the fact that I prefer COD4 online) . I like the way that they are making Rock Band 2 compatible with Rock Band 1 instruments/DLC and vice-versa, but they could always just release the set list as new DLC, release new instruments, patch in online World Tour. I really do not see the point of releasing a new game, if only to make it available for those who don't use Live.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Honestly not the biggest fan of Rock Band, just another instrumental game to me.

Not bad for songs, some things I like, but otherwise there's nothing I really like. What I'm really confounded about is how they're going to do Down With the Sickness by Disturbed. That song is so vulgar it isn't even funny... :|

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

Yes, it'd be fun trying to match the beep tone of the censors.

The first game was a piece of [cabbage]. There is no way I would buy that unless of course it is still able to use a Guitar Hero guitar. The guitar was the absolute worst on that game.

I take it you didn't try the drums?

Honestly, I don't mind the strat that much.

1) Guitar Hero compatibility was Activision's fault not Harmonix.

2) It will be compatible for RB2.

I don't think you're getting what he's saying. He's just complaining about the guitar that came with the game. Guitar Hero guitars do work with Rock Band, but no the other way around. No one really cares, because like raven said, the Rock Band guitar is horrible and useless. Strum bar is stupid because while there is no clicking, quite a few people, including me, use the clicking to stay on beat. Alternate strumming is also ruined by that, because the strum bar gradually stops, versus the click of a GH guitar which allows you to both get the speed right and lets you feel that you're hitting the note. The only thing I've found good about Rock Band is the drums, everyone having their own multiplier, and being able to play with 4 different people at once, versus 2 for Guitar Hero.

The setlist looks pretty good to me. I'm glad there's more metal that there was in the first. Some of the songs on the first were utter crap. Has anyone else found that, without that one series of drum rolls, Enter Sandman is possibly the most fun and easiest song in the game (Easiest compared to how hard it is rated as). If it wasn't for the drums rolls, it wouldn't be too long for me to get perfect on it.

Meh I thought the GH guitars didn't work in Rock band, there was so much drama between the two I had no clue.

I must be the only person who does not mind the Rock band guitar. Yeah, it doesn't click so you have to pay a bit more attention. Still it took me like 15 minutes to get used to it coming from Guitar Hero.

Nope, I actually like the feel of it more then the les paul.

The GH3 controllers only work with the 360 version of rock band. PS3, Wii, and PS2 users get screwed. It's going to be like that with Rock Band 2 as ell; the controllers are compatible on the 360 only because Microsoft forces Activision to make them compatible. if only Sony could do the same...
