RB in general is pretty fun, but I don't see why they'd make a second one at the moment. Too many people already enjoy the first, I doubt they have anything relatively new that would make it a huge seller. Stores are still going out of stock on the first one.

It still can be just as big of a seller as RB1 because of the backwards compatible controllers allowing people that have purchased RB1 to just get the game disk instead of the whole set.

I love Rock Band, I was waiting for this announcement.

Rock Band 2 is looking good. I'm definitely going to buy it once it comes out.

You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you."

I still haven't gotten the original RB.

You guys, what should I do? Should I save up and splurge on RB? Or should I bide my time and wait for Guitar Hero World Tour?

I'm thinking of doing the former, to be honest. RB sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I could even play with Tip.Iters. :D

Jeez, only a few months after a first release?

This makes them worse than Bungie. I mean, the Halo series went on for too long, but I mean c'mon? a few months after the first is released?

*over 6months it was first released in September. :P

The first one was released in November of 2007, and they have to get it out even earlier now with GH:WT providing competition.

Also, to people not seeing the point of this: They have new Drums and Guitar models, and a rumored 120 on-disc songs. Here are some of the songs that have been rumored thus far:

Testament - "Souls of Black", "Electric Crown"

Sublime

Bad religion - "Sorrow"

Turbonegro

Cake

AC-DC (OXMRumor, Harmonix Survey)

Ok, thats it. I've had it with these mother F'in Rocker games on these mother F'in Systems.

Honestly, after Guitar hero 4 and this, these need to die out. It's worse then FPS games. The same game play, only different songs.

GH:WT I see the point, since it's going to the same Rock Band model and going further and adding the ability to add extra content.

Plus, and I may be the only one, but I much more enjoy Guitar Hero III's song list than Rock Band (excluding DLC).

I may get GH:WT and split the cost with my roomate, it depends on what songs it has. They really need to focus on just "song packs' though instead of entire new games. Doesn't even need to be DLC, just make it something like GH:Aerosmith or some [cabbage].

Unless Rock band 2 has some great new features I certainly won't get it. I admit I've had a lot of fun in the first Rock band with my little brother/sister, but I didn't buy it. :P

Dam, why does Australia always get games later?

Lionheart these games are meant to draw people into video games, and that's what they've done.

Nardil you have a good point, I would really like to see more focus on the sets of songs. I personally would like to see a Guitar Hero with a bunch of indie artist.

^No they haven't. They have just been big stupid gimmicks that milk the franchise/idea much more than halo and gears combined. there a big bloody con and all they do attract is 10 year old kids that make the experience for people online a lot more horrid.

Guitar Hero: Indie?

Could be possible one day, maybe.

Focusing on a genre gives more selection than a band.

Wow, and RB didn't even come out that long ago.

I guess they're milking Guitar Hero and Rock Band for all they're worth now..there's a lot of GH games to be coming out. They just released GH: Aerosmith, then they've got GH 4 and the DS one, and there's been rumors of GH: Metallica for 360, PS2/3, and Wii. :geek: And now Rock Band 2?

It's starting to get pretty old now. :shame:

Completely different from the guitar hero experince and its aimed at such a bigger group .. And less little prats.

Yeah, I've played RB. I don't own it, but I played it when my neighbor had it over. It was fun, but not worth $200 in my opinion. The point I'm saying though is that it seems that they're trying to milk the whole music industry and the whole...whateveryoucallit that Guitar Hero (most recently) started. I think they should focus more on DLC for the games instead of releasing new games. And for the people who don't have internet access, maybe discs for $20 or so with DLC?
