AndyPandy
They give extra exp when you sue them. Talking about firelighters....or Jagex? :D ~Boo So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth, These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf, Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in, Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything, Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel, Tear up the book and write your own damn rules, Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got, And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut, And realise that the other world that you're always looking for, Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door, And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas, After all, you were put on the earth to do this, So shine your light so bright that all can see, Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be. Zygimantas
I used them once when tip.it was gonna have a massive Castle Wars against another RS-community. Looked kinda nice, actually. Seen them used in a wedding once too and it really made a nice atmosphere. Maybe if they were rarer, they would be more cool? It does make a nice atmosphere, but Runescape is not just all about "Party" and "Weddings"... Infact ive played over 2 years and i have not been in a wedding or a party... Most players are like this i bet, not that they haven't been in such events but they don't care about it. You havn't been in a party? I think no one likes you then :-# 99 Hunter - November 1st, 200899 Cooking -July 22nd, 200999 Firemaking - July 29th, 201099 Fletching - December 30th, 2010
LordJakal
They would only be useful if jagex updated them. Maybe something like; Use Firelighter --> Tinderbox, Use Tinderbox --> Logs (any kind). By that point the tinderbox would be tinted another color, and made the logs light a different colored fire. Basicaly, an inexhaustible firelighter that gives you a little more xp when using. Maybe even; Use Firelighter --> Random torch on the wall. The torch would then turn into the color of the firelighter. Or, Use Firelighter --> Fireplace. I like this idea, it can become useful. Example: You must have 200 firelighters of a colour to make a tinderbox that will make the colour of fire to whichever colours its decided to be. x2 Got my old account back!!! :D
spooferfish
They give extra exp when you sue them. You find a lawyer that will help you sue firelighters. And no, I'm pretty sure they don't. And even if they did, they would still be useless. It takes too much time using them on the logs, and you can only use them on normal logs. The Observer
Maybe Jagex can make it useable with torches or fireplaces (or any other light source for that matter) in Player Owned Houses so that they can have different colours for the flames. To make it actually useful, it will be permenately that colour you use a chimney sweep/cloth.
child_sycopath
I dont like firelighters. They're totaly useless to me, And i just drop them, Even if they were tradable they would be very cheap because of the fact they have to be used on normal logs. ddddrrr
They need to: Be used on POH fireplaces/torches, like some others said Be able to be used on any type of log, and double the exp, so magic would give 608.8xp? Last longer, each one lasts 20 sec x lvl needed for log? so normal is 20 sec, oak is 5 minute, willow=10 min, maple is 15 min, yew 20 and mage 25 For shades/vyrewatches, give em a lot higher chance of better loot Cooking foods on them would enchant the food, giving it bonuses that are nonstackable Guthix, for guthix food would be +1 attack/str, +1 def, Zamorak (red) = +2 att/str, Sara +2 def, Other colors would give +2 hp, so sharks=22, tuna potato=24. But there would also be a higher burn chance by cookin on fire, to non-overpower. Atroxide
It is good, but only for "parties", now for someone who don't party i dont see the point in it. That's like saying, 'What is the point of armor if you don't train combat?'.

That's like saying, 'What is the point of armor if you don't train combat?'. Well those who do clues are not after Firelighters, so whats point in it if we don't want them? My idea and other peoples idea were that they should be tradeable, so that players can sell them instead of DROPPING them. And for your info the players had done decent work to get the clue done... superson
Most useless item you can get from treasure trails, worth nothing (Literally) because of being non-tradeable. So when you get level 3 clue like this it's a bit annoying. I'm pretty sure you have to get at least one piece of rune or dhide on a level 3 clue. In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers. tintin113
I collect them but I'm probably never going to use them lol, I don't know what people would really use them for en masse and they aren't even tradeable lol. alphaq
They give extra exp when you sue them. Do you need a lawyer for that? OT: Personally, I think that the firelighters are intended to be used for fun: the extra exp is just a bonus. I've seen them used a lot around pest control, as well as at various parties. (It would be nice if they were tradable, though...) I want a green fire........... [hide=quotes] You are like a three legged cat. Everyone hates you and thinks you are ugly until, one day, they realize that you're cuter than all of the other cats. And you're fluffy too. I'm so glad I petted you. I've always wondered: If there's offensive language, than there should be Defensive Language. But I've never encountered it. If it does exist, what would it entail? Being painstakingly polite in such a manner that infuriates another?[/hide]

Did that need to be said, I'm sure everyone would. I don't see why it isn't tradeable or f2p? And yes I got under 10 sharks, a few firelighters, and a few nats on a lvl 3 clue. #-o Wc'ing my way to 99 (Wish me luck)
Zaaps1
2 good uses that Jagex could make would be: 1) 1 Material of a new furnishing in a POH? Maybe colored fireplaces? 2) Summoning 2nd. ~It's Super Effective! kurtvegita
in place of sacred oil would be nice somewhat. But then it wouldn't go with the story line : P Maybe you should get a bonus where the fire cooks as good as a range? Im sure the prices would skyrocket if they were made trade-able and ftp, but that will never happen

Also, i could really see an easy way to explain how a pyrelord could have different coloured variants requiring firelighters instead of a tinderbox.
