Sumpta
Teeg, there is a thing named context. I understand the temptation in putting RS on the same shelf as Wildlife or National geographic, but there is a difference. RS is a society in itself, which adheres to social rules. Indeed, there is nothing wrong with the human body. But it is not the OP's job to acquaint other players with the male genitalia. Nor is the a q p w joke a work of art comparable to Michelangelo's David. It is true that this whole 'oh noes, a nakud body' hysteria goes to far, but that is in no way related to this topic. The OP acted immature, and is -as expected- immature about being punished for it.
Numer0_un0
It is unfair. You should have gotten perm muted for being an [wagon]. People who do lawsuits over trivial, stupid things or lie blatantly like the McDonald's woman, they win it in real life, because the real life legal system is just screwed like that. In RS, it isn't; Jagex owns ur account and can terminate it anytime. So they punished your account, get over it, you deserved it :wall:
gauper_kid
thats just gross. theres no reason for you to ever need to type that. :shame: i cant stand it when ppl make that. if theres anything worth muting a person for, its that.

I actually agreed that the OP should be punished, but disagreed with others who saw it as "obscene". I was attempting to put into context. I think I realise that there is a difference between RS and Nat Geo!, but not in the way that they are freely available to be viewed by all ages. Who are you to compare art types? Some people looking at a wall see graffitti, whilst others see art. Some people think that Picasso is a load of old gobbledy[grime]! Beauty (indeed all art forms) is in the eye of the beholder. Anyway, thank you for putting me straight. Teeg
Sumpta
Way to go in completely overreacting and not comprehending irony, even if you are keen to use it yourself. I'm sorry if you feel I insulted your intelligence, but there's no reason to retaliate by insulting mine. Or am I really to believe that you consider the a q p w a work of art, since I am wrong in saying that it isn't? Like I said, I agree on your point of people overreacting when saying a naked body is obscene, but I feel you have drawn a bad comparison, by pulling National Geographic and Michelangelo into it. The people here who reacted did not say, nor intend to say, that the human body is obscene. So thank you for setting us straight? I'm always game for a discussion about art. I believe an important aspect of it is indeed the reception of it, and even more so, the intention. But the point is, this thread is not the place for such a discussion. Anyway, like I said, I didn't mean to insult you, and I do apologise if you feel that I did.
Teeg
Way to go in completely overreacting and not comprehending irony, even if you are keen to use it yourself. Irony? IRONY?? I see no irony here. The use of words to convey the opposite meaning to the literal? Are you saying you meant the opposite of what you actually typed, or have you a different definition of irony? Anyway, the crux of my argument, as you well know, is not what YOU or I class as art, but that I thought the word "obscene" went over the top. I didn't feel that you insulted me, no need to worry about that! To insult my intelligence, I'd have to get some in the first place. reaper88888
Wow, you broke the rules and you got a bm.. And then you got mad because what you did wasn't specifically listed as forbidden. I've never seen that before. Next time, use common sense.. if it is offensive, it will probably get reported. There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves. Shahrazad
What you have done is offensive and you shouldn't say it was unfair . The rule is pretty clear anyway: This includes (but is not limited to): discussion of recreational drugs, sexually explicit language, solicitation, racism or other prejudice, threatening, blackmail and swearing. It's simply a matter of common sense - try not to say anything that someone might find offensive. It already said that "try not to say anything that someone might find offensive". That was why you got reported, muted and black marks because someone found that what you had done was offensive and it was anyway. *Started Runescape in 1st of August 2005*. Robert_de_Sable
"You must not use any language that could be considered offensive, racist, obscene or otherwise inappropriate. This includes swearing." Uhh, last I knew, ASCII could be seen as a type of language. Using drawings to represent words basically. Why did this thread continue after this post? Crit2h
Don't do such useless, dumb things that end up hurting yourself. A lesson learnt. Yeah, like that zaryte bowwaitrecharge costs = ammo. So, all melee weapons are overpowered, at least.this combat triangle finally makes sense... chris28
I don't get why jagex are so strict with these things, their like some sort of paranoid dictator. On WoW you could do many things that are banned on runescape such as sharing wealth between charecters, jagex are just too strict for their own good and have probably lost alot of money from players that have been banned unnecessarily and then decided to quit. Creedence
You must not use any language that could be considered offensive, racist, obscene or otherwise inappropriate . This includes swearing. Hence the words bolded. This is totally fair in my point of view. Your just trying to get your way out of something you did wrong, which chances are, it isn't going to work. Instead of complaining about this, you might as well move on and learn from your mistake. If you don't want this too happen again, I suggest you refrain from doing these kinds of things. Fairness
I don't get why jagex are so strict with these things, their like some sort of paranoid dictator. So because Jagex wants to keep the game clean, they're some sort of a paranoid dictator? You'd expect to see this analogy with anti-RWT measures, but NO, it's about offensive language now. #-o You're being watched.
