I don't believe in Global Warming. In fact, I believe in Solar Cycles. Basically, the sun has different changes of radiation. These cycles last about every 300 years. In other words, the sun cools the Earth for 300-500 years and then warms up. The proof? The earth has been warming and cooling long before factories or cars (1600s). In fact, Greenland used to be all grassland. That's my opinion. (Please note that I took it from my head after watching a movie about it. Some of the facts might be a bit blurry.)

 

 

 

However, that doesn't mean change your ways. Air pollution is a major cause of many things such as: asthma, cancer, bronchitis, etc. Plus, it harms wildlife.

Basically what I think too. I'm not worried about running out of oil. When it does, Exxon will magically come up with an alternative fuel, claim rights to it, and sell it for their own profit. The oil companies are not stupid, they just want money and they will be the first to change to alternative fuels when the oil really runs out.

 

Think about it: during the 1960s the American government had almost no idea how to land on the moon. In a short 10 years, the US went from lauching their first rocket to landing on the moon. And that was with no profit whatsoever. With the oil running out, the oil companies will need something to profit out of. Give them 2 years to delvop a true alternative fuel max.

Maybe the fact that your plants are dieing isn't due to global warming, maybe it's due to a nearby landfill or airborne dirt from a factory drying them out.

Al Gore blames the Ice Caps in Antarctica for causing the Sea Level to rise; the fact is they aren't, and it is impossible for them to rise this way. The Ice Cap is already in the water. Two thirds of it is submerged in this water while the other third is shown to us. If that ice cap melts then the sea level will not rise, it will simply stay the same, as the mass of the ice cap is already in the water, so it is impossible for it to magically gain more weight and make the sea levels rise. I know you will think that is not true but you can do it at home. Put about 5 Ice Cubes in a cup, then fill it up with water to the top, or to a desired level. Mark the water level and/or weigh it on the scales and leave it in cool place with no direct sunlight (the sunlight will cause the water to evaporate, thus making your experiment not a fair test) and leave it there for about 1 day. Come back to it and the ice should be melted. Weight it and check the water level. Nothing would have changed.

 

 

 

 

The ice is floating on the water so that part of it is above the sea, thus that part is not displacing anything. When it melts the water will rise.

The greenhouse effect is a scientific fact based on nothing more than basic physics and how certain molecules absorb radiation of certain wavelengths. I've worked with the same principle myself in the lab with a spectrophotometer (apart from measuring concentrations of a given solution, they also measure absorption maxima for any given compound).

 

 

 

Also, you really do need to look up the word theory and what it means in a scientific context, because your use of it is incredibly ignorant.

^^ Arctic ice is all floating and water is more dense than ice. I have the link and I'll edit it in later but you can look it up if you want. I think it's Chyleck 2006, or 2007. Greenland has cooled since 1941 and the period between 1880 and 1955 was warmer than the period between 1955 and 2005. Lower elevations have lost ice while higher elevations have gained ice.

I think arctic ice will still raise sea levels, even if just by a little bit, because while water is denser than ice, there is still ice that is in the air, above sea level, and when that joins the sea, it will raise the levels, although much less than people would want you to believe

(No I'm not saying we should have carbon parties and stuff and just release it, ) but studies showed, that what we think is Global warming, may actually me a phase in the Earth. Scientists have seen that about like 1,100 years ago, the Earth was extremely warmer than it is now, but then it cooled down, and went into a mini ice age, we are now coming out of that mini ice age, which is why the temp. is going up, but if the Earth could handle it before, it could handle it now. I also have several other reasons, but they're toooooo long for me to write here so. :P

^^ Is that the same article 3 times? The sun does play a very big part in global warming. Scafetta and West of Duke found that 35% of the warming since the 70's can be attributed to increased solar output alone and more than 35% going back farther. I'll edit the link in later when I get home.

I definitely could have sworn that they ruled out the sun being the major factor behind recent warming, but I don't remember where I read it. Something about us not having sunspots for a couple decades or something.

Plants need CO2, but when theres to many Co2 than the trees can support.

 

Yes thats true, but Co2 is an igredient for the global warming just an igredient, theres a lot many factors but Co2 is the principal igredient.

 

Also ice reflects the sun, like theres a lil' warming up, the ice is melting, reflecting less sun, warming the earth and making the water up, also the ice we melting isnt on SEAS is on pure ground (artantica), and ice floats, when it melts it goes with the water.

 

Global warming is not true in this days BUT soon it will be true!
