[hide=]Alright, it's been quite some time since I've been here, but it doesn't really matter because all of those past issues are more or less resolved.

 

 

 

Alright, this summer I started with marching band (drum line). After a couple weeks into the practices, I started liking my section leader (Amy). However, I just ignored it at first because I didn't want to make anything awkward in the drumline and I didn't really have full-blown one-itis, as well as the fact that she is a senior and I am a sophomore.

 

 

 

In earlier August I started talking to her on the facebook IM, mainly about drumline stuff and music and other things, and I burned her a cd, which she responded to me the next day by texting me and saying it was amazing and that it "helped heal a broken heart," which she expanded upon eventually by saying that her boyfriend was leaving for college. This made me think that my chances with her would end up being rather small, seeing as she had a boyfriend and I figured I was friend-zoned after she told me something like that.

 

 

 

We started texting more, and eventually home band camp started, meaning marching band practice from 9 am - 4 pm every week day this week and thus I was with her all week basically. However, we didn't really talk that much because there wasn't much downtime at camp. However, I started texting her still about various things, where on monday we began texting about texting. I mentioned that I didn't have unlimited, and jokingly added that it didn't matter because I don't have many friends. She then replied, "that's hard to believe that a great guy like you doesn't have friends." I clarified that I was joking and my friends just didn't have texting, but for the benefit of any advice givers I am generally shy and slow with getting to know people, but the fact that she said that seemed a bit strange.

 

 

 

Then, err, yesterday happened. I was getting my band uniform fitted, and she randomly came into the room and asked me if I liked Swedish fish. On the way back home, I texted her and asked what that was all about and why she was at the school (people who were in the band before got uniforms and hour earlier). she said that she was there because of drama.i mentioned that I had been interested in that for a while, but I don't have enough classes to take it. She told me that she was close with the drama teacher and could get me into the play without being in the class and told me that I should do lighting. I asked what that consisted of, and she replied, "Lol heights lighting and me lol." I was rather surprised and replied that lighting might be more fun, to which she replied, "Lol I'd like that." Aside from this, I learned that she had dumped her boyfriend that day.

 

 

 

By this point I was rather surprised, not really knowing what to expect at band camp today. We still didn't really talk, due partially to the fact that there really wasn't that much time in between playing and learning the show. However, as usual, I texted her afterwards, and she mentioned that she had just finished playing tennis. I mentioned that I had never really played it before (I'm bad at sports and don't really like them, thus I tend to avoid them; only one I have ever enjoyed was fencing). She mentioned that i didn't seem like a ports person and that's what she liked about me.

 

 

 

Which brings me here. I like her a lot more now (though not one-itis level), and I'm thinking that I might have a chance with her. the main problems I can see are that it might things in drumline awkward (especially because the band is going to away band camp sunday morning), her being two years older than me, and my lack of, err, experience (never been in a similar situation or dated before).

 

 

 

So, I guess the main questions are: does it seem like she likes me, and what do I do?[/hide]

 

 

 

 

 

Alright, after posting this, most people here said i should make a move within a week or so. Seeing as a week has passed, I figured I should give an update.

 

 

 

Basically, I didn't really make any more advances, and I really don't think I'm going to. I went to band camp thinking about how I should attempt to advance things there. There was a lot of free time and most of the drum line hung out together, so I spent more time with her in person rather than texting. After getting to know her more, I decided that I honestly would rather have her as a friend than try to make something more out of it and that I didn't really want to date her or anything anymore.

 

 

 

However, wednesday was the day of the dance at camp. It was a lot of fun, despite the fact that I haven't the slightest clue how to dance. However, something sort of significant happened, otherwise I wouldn't be mentioning it. At one point I left my friends for a minute and was standing there, and she just came up to me and asked me if i danced. I was caught off guard and responded that I didn't know how, which she responded with an "oh" and walked away to rejoin some of her friends. After that I realized how stupid that probably was on my part and proceeded to mentally facepalm for the rest of the night. After the last song she hugged me, but I realize that that probably doesn't mean much to you people.

 

 

 

Nothing else of that sort really happened on thursday or today aside from her basically convincing me more to join lighting in drama. I've basically decided not to pursue anything anymore because after spending more time with her I am fairly positive that she is not attracted to me and that any sort of relationship like that would just be utterly awkward. I guess things might change again, but I'm content with how things are now.

I didn't expect to have to bring this up again, but now more stuff happened and figured I should share, I guess. After I posted that, things still kept going to a let's just be friends sort of area, especially since she started dating some other guy before we even left for away band camp. I was fine with this, and was starting to get over it a bit. I mean, after she threw me into a pool at a party we were both at (marching band football afterparty thing), I figured I was basically friendzoned if anything xD.

 

 

 

Then, at midnight last night, she started texting me. I asked what was up and she said she was just laying in bed and thinking about homecoming and school starting up soon. I tried to ignore any sort of connotation and said I was just working on an essay and I wasn't too worried about homecoming (I pretty much figured nothing would happen with her and I doubted I would meet anyone in that first month). She then asked if I was taking anyone, and I replied I would probably just end up going with some friends. Then she told me that she just broke up with her boyfriend and didn't have a date.

 

 

 

I asked her if she would just be going with friends then, and she said, "I guess if the boy I ask doesn't want to go with me lol." After this I figured it was a bit obvious where things were going, so I asked if i knew whoever it was and she said "Kinda lol." I figured it was probably already obvious to her by then what I thought of her and asked who it was, adding that obviously if she didn't want to tell me she didn't have to. She replied to this by telling me not to worry about it and that I would see when she asked him.

 

 

 

From this, I basically assumed it was either going to be me or someone else on drum line, seeing as she doesn't really talk to anyone else I talk with usually. Am I right in thinking this, or is it more likely that she's screwing with my head or something?

Most likely it is you, I think it is. A couple of girls have hinted like this to me, and both times it was me. If it isn't you and she does just want to be friends, it could be awkward if you ask her. I would still go for it though, if you do want to go to homecoming with her or a relationship. If you get rejected you would still get what you wanted in the first place, which is just to be friends. Good Luck :

Geed is currently in a decently happy long-distance relationship for the past 5-ish months. I like this girl. But, a girl I'v liked from before being in this long distance relationship finally admitted she likes me. She lives in my town, we both do track, and have been good friends for quite some time.

 

 

 

I feel caught in the middle. I like em both about equally. One lives close, one lives far. I hate to sound almost heartless (because im quite the opposite, I just dont know what to do in this situation), but whats your opinions on this?

I completely realized that like, me and my girlfriend having broken up seemed much more complicated than it actually was because I over-analyzed, and thought about it too much. Anyways, I saw her yesterday, and things just sort of fell back into place, and she slept over, and spent all of today over.

Well hopefully she didn't text anyone else that night, and will still be free when you ask her on Wednesday. And you better ask her on Wednesday. Cause if you don't, you might as well just give up.

I started school less than a week ago thinking that it would be another lonely year, and it has been... sort of. I've been a loner for most of my life so I don't have ANY experience with this sort of thing. There is this girl that is in two of my classes who is... "out of my league". We are allowed to sit wherever we want in the clasroom. Usually I sit in a corner and get surrounded by the people who come in late and have nowhere else to go. My vision isn't the greatest (even with my steve urkle glasses >.>) so I decided to go towards the front of the room, that is, not back in a corner. I am usually one of the first people to get to class, this girl arrived shortly after me and sat next to me in both classes. I don't know what to think of this, if anything. It very well may be a coincidence, maybe a lost bet on her part. I don't know if I'm being paranoid, it's just that people usually avoid me at all costs and this seems fishy... I don't know what to do... or if this is in the right thread =P

Try talking to her if she sits next to you, I doubt it's a lost bet, that's too cliched and kids these days don't gamble, they just play their vidjogames and smoke their pot.

 

 

 

Maybe she's sitting next to you because she wants to try to get to know you. You could try sitting another seat back and seeing if she sits next to you again.

Yea I do have an accent, but what I meant is I dont have a very Australian accent, mines really neutral.

It appears I haven't had a relationship problem for awhile now... But since now I'm back at school and now near girls, I'd say that my hormones have chucked themselves up a gear. And now I'm looking at girls like I used to look at them :P

 

 

 

But anyway the real problem is, I lack severe confidence, that is the long story short. But since everyone likes a good read... Well I'll type out some crap for you.

 

 

 

Right, so on friday, first day back I walk into the common room and bam. Theres a new girl and she I'd have to say is very pretty (aren't they all). But anyway, almost like dogs to bones, the more confident boys waltz over and grab her attention before I'm able to get a word in. (I was meeting the other new people... and talking to my friends). So yeah, She is in my class along with the confident boys (yup, unlucky.) Also everytime I have looked up and glanced at her she has been looking at me, even when the other confident boys are talking to her (:o, just what I noticed).I'm not a mind reader ofcourse, I'll just wait till day 2 to see what actually happens... I'm pretty sure she will befriend my female friends and I can get to know her when she is near me xD... Or failing that, there are seating plans and I hope like hell I get lucky... But even then I'll have to hope I feel confident and Mr. Awesome on Monday/Tuesday. She does appear to live close to me...

 

 

 

We do seem to walk the same way... Although she did take a bus, I didn't see where she got off at. :evil:

Just a bit about me... I am quite loud in the classroom, voicing my opinions as such... Being the first person to get questions wrong as well(not often xD). But I'm never shy around my friends. Just new people, but after a convo has started I can keep it going... Some people say I'm funny too, with my... whats that word... perks?

 

 

 

Aparently my last post has well, gotten slightly ignored.

 

Ah well, Monday came and went. I'd say it was a good day. Still didn't get much of a chance to speak to her, because my female friends were befriending her (I know, I really should just start talking to her). I found out she is in another one of my classes so. :thumbup: Tuesday is another day, and I'll see what happens then too. And what other classes I share with her >:) She is still looking at me in that manner, so that's good (and I've been giving those looks back xD)...
