"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice

Featured Replies

Well, I'm bored so I guess I'll post some junk. Take me serious or not...

The title reads ""I want a girlfriend""... So now that I've established that what's next?

What kind of girl are you looking for? Do you have any leads? What is your life status as of now (stability)? What is your dating past like? How old are you? How mature are you? What are you looking for in a relationship? Are you secure with yourself? Are you confident?

These are all starting questions to the process...

There's never an easy way :P

1: Uh well... No clue

2: Leads? I don't think so if you are talking IOI

3: Stability? I'm sane and plan on staying that way.

4: Dating past? None unless you count grade 5 dating

5: 14 (and a half :P)

6: Maturity? I guess Im mature enough to not know how mature I am?

7: A relationship with someone who likes me, and someone that I can like.

8: Secure? Well I don't think I'm a total loser etc., I need to get a picture up here to confirm that I'm not THAT bad looking... I don't think I am :/

9: Confident? Depends on the situation...

It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true.

That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.

disregard good advice because the giver is a douche

THAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON

How do I get my exs best friend and family to stop hating me so I can date her again... I just want to be able to give her a hug without her friend trying to castrate me...

Let me get this straight...

Because of at least one text your ex's parents read, a photo of her in a bikini sent to you by your ex, and your humour, your ex's parents hate you. Then they told your ex's friends that you were essentially the devil... Am I right?

So what is the current status on your ex's parents and other friends?

Right now the best solution probably would be to either tell your ex's best friend to grow the hell up (As Dark_Aura said), or to talk to her and just convince her that you are actually a good guy (And I certainly hope you are one). I want to say just to forget your ex's friend and do what you want, but that might give her reason to start trying to convince your ex that you really are the devil...

One thing I think I can say definitively is to lay off the "We're in love" crap. I hate to sound a pessimist, but no, you are not in love. You are 14/15. Sure, in a couple of years, you might still be with her and actually be in love, and might JUST be able to say that yes, you were in love. But you can't know that now. I don't think anyone can know that so soon in a relationship, especially a teenage relationship. So saying that you are in love just sets you up to fall hard should one of you realize that you don't want this, yet the other still does.

Despite that lovely bout of killjoy, good luck :D

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Wouldn't you rather ask, "where's my girlfriend?"?

Much better option, especially in the long-er run.

That's not happening any time in the foreseeable future... I'm "not popular with the ladies" :/

Correction. If someone like ME can do it, then anyone can.

OT: I'm decent with relationships, but my girlfriend asked to take a break a few days ago, and then found out she was interested in another guy. Now she says that it was just a phase and that she wants to get back with me. Is she mucking around with me, or is she being serious? I know it's hard to give a decent answer without actually it happening to you (I mean exactly like it's happening to me), but could someone give me an educated guess?

Au contraire, if I can girlfriend, anyone here can. Especially when I did, I wasn't social at all, and didn't get along with people.

Not worth it mate.. if she's taking a break from the relationship to find other things then that means she's not satisfied in the current one. How long is it going to go before she has another 'phase'? I personally wouldn't think twice in dumping her and looking for somebody else.

A friend to all is a friend to none.

She (being my ex) says that the only reason she won't date me is because she'd lose to many of her friends (even though only two of them don't really like me...)

Her parents really liked me at first, so I just need to do what I did earlier, I know how to get out of all of this mess, I just need help planning the execution of it all...

I understand if I should just give up any hope for a relationship, but if you could give me some advice I'd appreciate it =x I know I've asked some questions here before, but school is starting tomorrow and it's the first time in 3 months that I'll be around other people. I'm 16 and I've never even been friends with a girl :/ I've been in school with the same group of people for about 3 years now... I don't think anybody my age is going to work... My only hope is probably the new students coming in (y9/freshman, I'm y11/junior). If the age difference is too much, I understand :/ I don't think 2 years is a lot, but I very well may be wrong. I've managed to make a few male friends over the summer, but other than the last month or two I have no experience with people in general. I was just wondering how to approach/talk/befriend somebody I feel has potential with me.

Well, I'm bored so I guess I'll post some junk. Take me serious or not...

Well, you seem to just want to date in general. What are your main interests that you could potentially share with a girl? (ie. guitar, sports, health...etc)

It's happened to me before. I ended up getting back together with the girl. Then it happened again. This cycle repeated for nearly a year. Get out now while you still can.

Actually the main problem is, that her friends/family think she doesn't like me... But she does....

And she's afraid to tell them she likes me, because they all hate me, but I think they hate me to show support to her...

Vicious circle?

People are instantly going to reject you because of past interactions, but their opinion can be changed. Just be nice, and people are going to think "Hey, he's not that horrible...". I'm not sure if you're a loner and they have no opinion about you or if they don't like you. If they just don't really know you, they won't mind you...

I am a nice person (in my opininon anyway :/) It's just that people tend to avoid me. I have good hygene so that's not the problem and I'm not terribly ugly... I'm just not sure how to approach people that have avoided me my whole life :/ That's why I'm going to try to focus on the people I haven't met, I just don't want to look like the creepy old guy hitting on little girls (I've been told I could pass for 20 >.>) How should I introduce myself/make a good first impression :| ?

Then sit with some nice people at lunch, they probably already know you. Also, make friends before you go for girls.

If you're able to make friends with just a couple people in every single "group" at your school, it makes it so much easier to make friends. My opinion's generally listened to by a lot of people, so whenever anybody starts downing on someone I know, I usually just say, "What're you talking about bro, that guy's tight as hell!" or something along those lines. It would help a lot. Just do that and have a mad-positive attitude. You're the hottest [cabbage] there.

And Nick, I've never met a good-looking girl named Bethany. Never seen one named Betty, though. Both are kind of nasty-sounding names.

Betty is OK, Bethany has th in it, sounds gross. Actually I picture Betty's as pretty girls with black hair and a bow in their hair.
