Wrench_150
Eh, I don't mind the timer that much as the friends restricting. The more the merrier right? I suppose you don't want your child leaking information, but any smart and well informed kid should know not to give out personal details EVER. It'll be fine for under 13, but under 18/17 would suck o.O Besides, everyone would register 18+ with their future accs. Dang, I knew there was catch when they allowed 13 unders to play. I seriously hoped no one clicked above 1993 >.> 99 Fletch~~99 WC~~79/81 Fishing87/94 Magic~~84 RangeEtha! Dragons_Might
Sounds stupid.. and hard to judge until we know what age is decided to need controls. Odds are its 13 or under, but they could go extremely stupid and do 18-. Whatever though, I guess all of us who created our accounts before age was even asked, can be pretty much fine and not worry... No matter what they set  the trick is to balance all of these methods to get 99 and either play real life or train another skill while farming. 635th to 99 Farming 12/16/
deloriagod
1. If parents don't feel they can trust their kids online, don't let them on in the first place. 2. If a parent can't keep track of the time their kid spends online, they probably don't care that much. I hate to see companies having to put parental controls on their games because parents are so incompitent. So many decent players are going to have their time severely limited because their parents realise the new control they have over them and take it a step too far. Makoto_the_Phoenix
I would, but when there is a thunderstorm outside (and it happens quite frequently), I'd rather not, you see? I didn't know that people didn't make board games or play cards. Shahrazad
Sounds good. Finally a popular online game has thought about the children's future. I hope the system would be clever though. *Started Runescape in 1st of August 2005*.
saberbladetwo
If that is true, I plan on using it for myself! At least, I hope I can. I am goign to college next year and rather than just quit again (which is what i do at the start of every school year), I can put a max of say an hour a day. That sounds ok to me. That may not work very well though.
DUELMASTER30
I would, but when there is a thunderstorm outside (and it happens quite frequently), I'd rather not, you see? I didn't know that people didn't make board games or play cards. What the hell is the difference between sitting inside and playing a video game, and playing a board game? I see no reason why you would want people to play a board/card game instead of a video game, especially if they prefered the video game. killerbeer0
I don't know or give a damn who my friends are in real life, limiting them is just idiotic in most cases. My parents don't really care because they trust my judgment anyway. Not that they could get into my computer anyway  OH S***! He/she/it is back! Mercifull
If Jagex have managed to work out a way of validating the age of an 18+ person then is there a possibility of a less strict filter? I.e one that still censors direct swear words but not stupid typo combinations that block hundreds of legitimate words.
