August 1, 200817 yr they even had the nerve to put pantera in the 20 somethings. just out of curiosity, do you mean they should be in a lower or a higher position? Higher, seeing as they are probably one of the best know thrash bands outside of the big 4. for the record, slipknot is not metal, and if it is, so is bullet for my valentine. Pantera? I hope you're joking. What does it matter if they're one of the best known outside of the big 4 (which are painfully mediocre, excluding Slayer [and even they started sucking after 2 albums]). [cabbage], they were hardly thrash metal; more so post-thrash, aka groove metal or whatever. Just listen to Machine Head and Pantera, then compare to thrash metal bands to the likes of Artillery, Rigor Mortis, Ulysses Siren, Coroner and Razor. of course the big 4 are going to sound generic today, they pretty much invented the stuff, and everyone else ran with it, logic man! logic! Pantera moved away from Groove/Glam metal in the mid '80's, try listening to Mouth for War, Drag the Waters, or Hollow. nudist hippy vegan elves who inexplicably wear leather.

Big 4 didn't invent [cabbage]. They just did well commercially. Good job, you don't know what groove metal is (it's nowhere near related to glam). Also, I'd rather not. I'd prefer listening to Exhorder (the band Pantera copied their style from).
August 2, 200817 yr Author You know the world is going stupid when Slipknot isn't given any recognition. Think of their influence on black, death, doom and power metal. And something that translates to "not metal"? Ha! Fool! Slipknot is the band holding the banner of metal and bringing it to its rightful resting place. The dump?
