Why even play?

Almost every thread about the Wilderness has people saying that Jagex can't seem to do anything right, that they hate every aspect of the game now, and similar things.

 

 

 

Why play if you hate it so much?

 

Wouldn't it be easier to leave the game and have no reason to rant about it than to stay and continue playing/discussing it, even paying for it if you hate it?

 

 

 

It's a game, you can stop playing if you want to, and there really is no reason to stay if you have nothing but hate towards it.

 

 

 

This is half-question, half rant. If anyone cares to, at least say why you're staying with the game if you are, then flame.

you do raise a good point though. Jagex manage, maintain and create runescape. making the step to eliminate RWT was a step to save both their company AND runescape. sure alot of players dissareed....and rioted, but at the end of the day we still have runescape. if you dont like it, were not litterally chaining you to a computer and making you play?

 

 

 

im sticking with runescape for I enjoy quests, events, defence and above all Castle Wars. =)

Here's a nice theory that I've been using (since it's literally the only thing that I can think of):

 

 

 

Raison d'etre. Simply put, it means "reason to be". Perhaps playing RuneScape is all they can do. Now, keep in mind, claims of playing other games and actually going through with it are two, very separate ideals.

I dont know how to define a 'ranter' but I rant some few time so I guess I can be a ranter. I rant because I see the game having something wrong. I browse this forum but I dont play rs anymore since the bad updates. For me, having discussion on rs issue is not much more fun than actually playing the game.

Most of these people are just ranting on the chance that Jagex will say "Oh Dear, XXXXX is quitting, perhaps we should bring back PKing just for him" :wall: :thumbsup:

Well I don't really care about the removal of the wilderniss, it's ok that we still got bounty hunter. But please why do I've to be dropped in between these noobs that are 90+ and feel oh so superior when they can scare me away. It's so sad that they call you a noob or a coward for running or leaving. I'm no coward they're, they should get someone of their own level. For example today I tried to fight a level 99 rune pure, he killed me with his 2 handed because I couldn't eat fast enough. He kept hitting 15+ all the time and 28 once. And it gets even lamer when some guy refused to do a no armor fight, he was 74 or something like that. First he took of everything except his kite and I thought ok fine. Then he whined about my green d'hide chaps and leather body. So noob and he started to pray, I'm pretty sure that a kite offers more defence than some d'hide.

 

 

 

My point is the jumping, tagging 2vs1, 3vs1 or more and even sometimes unexpected are just lame, they could change it or make other rules and better level restrictions. Also the time I've put in making my account this way, is just wasted, now you're forced to play in a certain way or you just have to quit and go skilling. If I just can't make my account this way because some random hobo in full rune always loves to bash me up and even flame me than that's pretty sad.

Flaming is noobish. Asking for a no armor fight in bh however, not going to happen or also pretty bad. Bh has NO rules except the crater lvls, the rouge kill, and the pick up penalty. No one deserves to be flamed (unless they flamed first ;) ). But don't ask people to no armor. They couldn't care less about making it "fair". They just want your items, or else they wouldn't be there. Asking to no armor even if you are a lower lvl will not only make you look bad, but may also "accidentally" tip off people that you are lvl 60 with 99 range and get you pjed/piled/etc. Just play your best and don't expect people to come to your own bar and we'll all be happy :thumbsup: .

It's in duel arena, cwars, clan wars, tourneys and FoG.

 

I actually think that FoG is how Jagex originally envisioned wildy pvp :-k since the guide used to say that going into a crowded area or through trees/obstacles would allow a ranger/mager to hold the meleer and distract them while they pick through the obstacles.

I agree with you but the simple reason is that they don't hate RuneScape, they like it too much.

 

 

 

I can't see why the people who claim that 'RuneScape is forever ruined' continue to pay and play the game six months after the updates unless they still do support it.

It never once mentioned that there MUST or HAD to be loot involved. The pvp in rs was always great, for it's erm... RWT stance. For all you care they could just remove bh, and every other way of hitting other players with a weapon.

 

Now that is no pvp. No, don't call me a jagex dog/slave or anything, i was pissed when they took pvp away on the first day too, now i realise their reason.

People used to care, an try help them out to keep them enjoying the game, the community in runescape is lost forever, I'll miss that more than I will ever miss pking. -.-

A lot of people who complain constantly about Runescape and the changes that Jagex makes seem to forget all too easily what it is they love about Runescape. They forget about the good points, the things that make us like to play Runescape. It's easier for them to find flaws then to find things they like about it. As players we do have a right to rant about what Jagex is doing if we don't agree with it, but you rarely see any positive things about Runescape anymore. There is rarely a rant that says what realistically could be done, what they think the update has improved in Runescape. You just don't see it, because people don't want to express their opinions in that way.

I have been thinking the same exact thing for a long time now. It annoys me when people complain all the time about the game about how much they hate it, how bored they are when they play it, how Jagex is ruining the game and taking all of the fun out of it, and yet they keep playing. They are either into torturing themselves by playing something they hate or they are just complainging to fill silence/annoy people.
