if you like gaming & watching bluray movies, go for ps3

if you want a better online gaming exp (BUT willing to shell out $50/yr) with a bigger game library, then 360

or whichever one most of your friends actively play

I would go with the PS3, it beats the Xbox 360 overall, I did the mistake getting a 360 and I regret it.

Blueray, MGS4, free online, etc. on the PS3.

Dont want to seem like a 360 fanboy but:

MSG4 is one game and one of the only exclusives that PS3 has, while 360 has alot of decent exclusives. Yes PS3 has free online, but that means that the servers will be of worse quality, lots of down time etc, and people who exploit bugs etc use cheat programmes will probaly not be banned. And yes, PS3 does have blueray, but if your buying a games console to watch DVDs you really need to rethink your priorities.

Well, I've got a PS3 and haven't encountered any downtime, the servers are fast even at peak time (apart from PES 2008 but that is Konami's fault) and haven't encountered people using cheat programs. I don't understand this argument (and it's not just in reference to the post above) that PS3's servers will have more cheats because it's free, $50 a year isn't going to magically prevent cheats.

That being said, the 360 is an equally decent console, the only thing the PS3 has over it is Bluray, other than that there is little difference ($50 for Xbox live is nothing major) so I encourage you to buy whatever console most of your friends have so you can get a good online experience playing them.

he means that there are more cheaters on ps3 because on xbox your paying for the live - meaning microsoft or whoever actually has to take care of it more because they are getting paid for it. and also, i bought 360 because all of my friends have it.

Quit Runescape... Dec 2001 - Jan 2008 on and off... mostly off.

I know what he meant, I just disagree.

1. I took MGS4 as an example.

2. the disk capacity is a lot larger so you don't have to cut content to fit it on a regular DVD.

3. Both of them have decent exclusives but overall the PS3 is better.

4. The online is pretty much the same as Xbox live.

Ill agree with you on everything else but:

PS3 has better exclusives? Haha you have to be kidding?

PS3 has an online browser. Where's it on the 360? Oh yeah, nowhere.

Remember last year? 2008 was supposed to be the year of PS3

PS3s most anticipated game right now is... Bioshock  Sorry, it's just kinda funny

This isn't even an arguement mate, my brother as a PS3 and he has never ever used the online browser, most people who can afford a games console already have a computer so there is no need.

And i don't think ive ever been playing on my 360 when i suddenly think, "Hey i need to look at some porn".

um yeah when i buy game console all i want do is surf the net! i not want playing good game with good graphics and better online. #-o

With overall I meant the overall of the console and not only the exclusives, my bad.

And the internet browser is a good addition to the overall +.

The PS3 has wifi built in. Free online play.. and I've never had trouble with the servers. (I have a ps3 at my SF-home, but my 360 is here in my apartment). I've had my 360 for a year now and I'm still not willing to pay for XBL or a router/wireless adapter for it. There's so much extra stuff you need to buy for the 360 :[

Plus you don't have all the little 12 year old kids screaming in your ear when you're playing a game on XBL hahaha.

I really don't get the deal with this. 9/10 games I play, it's usually with college students. I've played with more Brits than these little kids and I pretty much play an hour of live every other (if not every) night.

There's another plus for the 360 actually - I've played my friend's PSN and there's barely anyone with headsets. Probably because it doesn't come with the system. Part of the experience is working with the team / trash talking the opposing team.

PS3 Also has better graphics than 360

Lol, no. Especially in cases where the developers port to the PS3 from the 360.

Case in point: Devil May Cry 4

Hmm.. gonna guess here and say the ONLY on the PS3 can you download gmae demos off the online store for free?

No. In fact, Live Marketplace has more. Lol.

But isn't there a natural code that is slightly changed for each console? If I'm right your completely wrong.

What are you on about

PS3 Also has better graphics than 360

:| Not really, there both equal in this respect, if you put a PS3 version of GTA 4 side by side with the 360 version there would probaly be barely any noticeable difference.

Also, @ the person who said XBL is full of squeky vocied kids, it depends on what game your playing on, and i would say the majority of people on XBL are 16+.
