Imo this is probally the stone of jas, believed to have been used to create the first rune stones/magic

 

 

 

there used to be quite a few threads floating about that were about the stone but i cant find any for some reason :oops: (maybe rollback victims)

 

 

 

so what do you think, is this the fabled stone, are we any closer to finding it and do you think it may an apperance in modern runescape again soon?

yea even tho the new quest has really bad rewards i loved it for the history(it was also in a much better way than makiing history. cutscenes>text imo didnt ever read any of history)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't just touching the stone of jas enough to allow a person to cast magic, and on top of that without even needing to use runes. It's been a long time since I read that old Runescape Lore about the drunk at the bar that told the story to the guy about people finding a rock that all runes were able to be made from, and of mages that could cast spells without the need for runes. As well, for the others that could not runes were made as an aid. This was back in the days of classic.

But why bring the stone of jas with runecrafting and magic, i think it'll just be on the quest but players will never get their hands on that pesky piece of rock.

We wouldnt get it because it would take the point out of 2 skills, i can see those rocks being pushed in the new rcing minigame though.

I probably wouldn't have noticed this if i hadn't just recently done The Path of Gloupherie, but that looks alot like that little thingy that breaks/dies when hazlemere saves your character.

Was that not the Stone that came out of Guthix's Right Eye?

That looks like the seed Hazelmere used to save you during The Path of Glorphrie...What did he call it? Argento's Last Gift to me? (Dang I was beaten to the Punch...lol when I posted this there were 2 Posts...)

I agree with people like Merv and Den, this IS the Stone of Jas. What else could it be? When I did the quest and watched the cutscene, I looked up from the text and could only catch a glance of it, but kept wondering what it was... The Stone makes perfect sense, just think: Guthix used the Stone of Jas to create runes and maybe even life. We know this from several sources, like the Moonclan Manual and Melzar the Mad. And now we see a giant, floating stone and Guthix busy with some runes!

After the Stone of Jas was dicovered long ago by a Fremennik Seer, Guthix took it away, apparently because he didn't want mortals toying around with it. So then why would he allow it to be part of a minigame? Anyway, there is more proof indicating that the Stone of Jas lies somewhere in Lumbridge Caves, maybe even below the TOG Cave.

i think we may find the stone of jas but it will yeidl to us is perhaps knowledge of a new spell book and runes we dont have anymore eg the weird 2 shown in tht cut scene

Perhaps the 'fist' is the mark of a failed attempt to possibly destroy the stone, leaving an indentation.

Also we have proof magic came before the other gods, ergo there was no Zaros at this point and the wilderness was Zaros realm that was torn apart and destroyed after Zamorak "killed" him and they imprisoned all the mahjaratt. So it'd of just been another nice green place back then that led up to the snowy areas of the fremmnik lands.

Yup, forgot to mention that in my last post, but yeah, the Wilderness didn't exist in those times. It was a healthy, forested area.

Hi, you may not know me (except Behind Y0u and some others Belgian/Dutch people), but I do know a lot of you all, already reading these forums for several years etc, but never had the urge to create an account. :P

 

 

 

But I have something to say about the FoG relation with the Stone of Jas. The place where you collect those tears, was a Saradomin Church/Sanctuary/... and was the place where the last battle of the Third Age was fought between the forces of Saradomin and Zamorak. Then Guthix awoke, and crushed his fist in the ground, thus stopping all the fighting and creating the Guthixian Edicts. His punch on the floor created a figure which is a sample of his fist and thanks to the power of the punch the whole place was filled by the special force that the Druids are now collecting from you when you play the game. This is what I've found on RSOF, various other forums and responses of RS Mods. :P

Also, I do think, that flying thingy is the stone of Jas, however, it's a shame it doesn't look like the stone on the skull of a character, placed in one of the Development Diaries. Would have been so cool to see the Mahjarrat forces having it and your character and 7 other people having to stop them. (Path of Glouphrie reference)
