Seanthorn
I currently only have 200k ish, and I'm willing to using it on both them skills, although 200k isn't alot to raise them skills, it could do a little, but are they both worth it? I don't want comments like 'Ohhh when you get to 44 RC u can do Nat's' blah blah blah, i know i can do that then, all i want to know is if it's worth it. I don't want to use these skills in the long run, just these skills to get my Total level up. thanks!
D Jay99
You can do farming for free, just farm herbs that make money (ranarr/toadflax) and plant willows/curry. You even make some money this way. For rc, just make fire runes using duelling rings, super energies and the best pouches you can. This is even faster xp than nature runes, but without profit. Troacctid
Well, they are the two best moneymaking skills in the game. I don't see why you shouldn't train them. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Seraphyna
I personally think that RC is hella boring...but it *is* a good money maker and a pretty handy skill. So if you don't get bored doing it, go for it. However, I love farming. You can make money off herbs and high level fruit trees like papaya and palm (coconuts). It's also really easy...just use supercompost and enchanted secateurs on herbs and pay gardeners to look after trees/fruit trees/bushes. Hands off xp. ckellingc
Farming is a great moneymaker if you know how to use it correctly. If I knew your farming level, I could help you out. The great thing about farming is that you can plant something, go do something else, check the plant, go do something else, then pick it and sell for profit. Especially true with herbs. RC can be the same way. With the "Runecrafting Guild" coming this month, I'd get it up (if for no other reason) just so you can see what the guild is like. And laws are extremely easy to craft, no harm done! There is no way to make "Millions fast and easy"... SO QUIT ASKING ABOUT IT!
Seanthorn
My farming is 4 or 5? haha Atm, this is what i want to do. I'm lending out my whip every now and then to get in a slow ammount ov money. I'm gna be cutting willows near Seers village, which isn't far from a few farming patches. I will have about.. 2M to use on farming. so.. i need a good training method for farming? With some seed's coming from the nests, i could use them in the future. EDIT: As i hate squests, i don't see me getitng the enchanted secateurs things. So.. suggestions apart from that please :)
All_Is_Great
First of all, do fairy tale pt1 for the magic secateurs and the exp, then plant oak trees from acorns, which are insanely fast at ur lvl and are very cheap, then start farming herbs like harralander/toadflax/ranarr for money and use willows&curry trees once you can. You can plant apple trees, banana and orange trees to get to 42 farming for curry trees as well. you can get to 45 within 3 days, but dont plant maples if you dont wanna spend tones of money (maple seeds are 27k last time i checked, willows are only 1k ish). Bauke
Since you know the deal about natures, what kind of advice do you expect here? If you have the patience for rc, then it's a great moneymaker. Same deal for farming. Toadflax seeds cost pretty much nothing, and the herbs are like.. 2k? All up to you. You're the one that has to play the account. But if you like the skills, yeah, do it. Seanthorn
I want to do farming but i have no idea how to do it, i got to level 5 when it first came out, and I've forgotten! What could i do from level 5, to say a reasonable level where i start to level good??
sliceopie
Yes definately get them both up! Fire's can be made with normal rune essence so are very cheap, if you use a dueling ring and (super) energy potions that should be easy. My advice would be to buy the best herb seeds you can and do farming runs in between runecrafting. I.E. runecraft for about 2 hours, take a farming run break then back to runecrafting. As long as you use super compost not many of your herb's will die. Also i know you don't care about nature runes making lots of money but farming can be super profitable with herbs and marigolds. Troacctid
I want to do farming but i have no idea how to do it, i got to level 5 when it first came out, and I've forgotten! What could i do from level 5, to say a reasonable level where i start to level good?? There you go, you've got nothing against it, you just haven't tried it. : Give it a shot and you'll probably like it. It's probably the skill with the least input required. Sure, with fishing you can click and wait, but with farming you can click, log off, and log in two hours later for all the game cares. :D Basically, the fast experience comes from trees and fruit trees, and the fast cash comes from herbs. (Marigolds are good too.) Check the Game Guide to find all of the herb, tree, and fruit tree patches, and just plant the best thing you can in each patch. (Or for herbs, the most profitable, which are ranarr, kwuarm, and snapdragon, not necessarily in that order.) You can also plant marigolds for more profit, and allotment crops for more experience, but they will of course lengthen your farming runs. Hops and bushes are mostly a waste of time though, especially at low levels when you can't even plant a whiteberry bush. Use supercompost to give them a 90% survival rate, and you won't need to bother watching them at all. Just plant, teleport to the next patch, repeat until you've gone to all patches, and then go do something else for a while, be it chopping wood, or logging off for lunch. Come back later and do the same thing, but on your second run you can harvest before you replant stuff. And always wear magic secateurs when you harvest herbs. The quest for them is easy, and it also unlocks fairy rings, so you really can't lose. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Seanthorn
Yes i understand what gives me good moeny and all, but... how do i get started from level 5, not what i could at level 30+. From 5-??? What shuld i do? And from ?? to the next level?
D Jay99
You use tears/lamps/books/sorceress' garden to get it up to 15. Then keep planting oaks till you're 30. Alternatively, keep planting the best things you can in allotments until you're 15.
Kietaro1
Well first I would like to say that the game is much more fun when you try things yourself. Famring like any skill is very simple and something that, especially at level 5, you should be able to figure out. That being said here are some very easy ways to level farming. First, open up the skill interface and click the farming icon. Look through the list of farming items and find one that you can grow. Make sure you have some seeds of that kind. Go to Catherby however you would like and buy the 40 pineapples from Ahrein (spelling?) on the docks. Do this everyday and fill up as many compost bins with them as possible. NO MATTER WHAT YOU GROW USE SUPER COMPOST. Even if you are paying for the patch to be watched. That little bit of extra exp adds up and since the pineapples are availible in sets of 40/day you should never run out. After you get some supercompost, head on up to the farming patch in Catherby. In the farming store, buy a rake, a spade, awatering can, and a seed dibber. Rake out a patch, use the super compost, plant the seeds that you can, water, and leave to do whatever your heart desires. Taa daa you are a master farmer. Man that wasn't hard at all. The idea here is to learn the basics and fine tune it is you go for your own enjoyment. This game is not about max exp/hour or how efficent you are. Play the game and enjoy it, it isn't a job.
All_Is_Great
Yes i understand what gives me good moeny and all, but... how do i get started from level 5, not what i could at level 30+. From 5-??? What shuld i do? And from ?? to the next level? Well, I'll say this all over again lol: 1. Do Fairy Tale pt1 - Growing Pains, it gives 3.5k farming exp and requires 1 farming, and it gives magic secateurs, which are essential. 2. Step one will bring you to about 17-18 farm depending on ur current exp. So plant 5 oak trees in each of the 5 tree patches (All are pretty easy to get to, except the one in gnome stronghold if you dont have spirit trees) 3. Plant herbs/alloments/flowers in when the trees are growing. 4. Optional: play vinesweeper for additional seeds/exp or do other stuff (rc, etc) Highly recommend you do the quest that unlocks spirit trees(forgot which), ghosts ahoy (ectophial) and lumby diary for tele to fally farm patch. 5. At lvl 27 plant 5 apple trees, that should get you to at least 30 along with the oak trees, so you can spend some money on willow trees (4k ea). A 6. At 32, farm ranarrs (recommend you do My arm's big adventure as well for an extra disease free herb patch). 6. At 42, use curry trees, dirt cheap and great exp. coza_17
Farming can make you a lot of money. I usually get snapdragon/ranarr seeds off slayer tasks (but you can buy them) and plant them in the patch on the Troll Stronghold roof (where the troll grows them for you). Use supercompost and harvest with magic secateurs, if you have, because this will get you more herbs per seed. This will always get you a profit, and requires very little money making. Use willow seeds for experience, they're not bad, and cheap. Runecrafting is slow to train, and I find it boring after a while. For money you could buy rune essence and craft fires, using the dueling ring method, and when you reach 44 you could make the money back by crafting some nature runes through the abyss. Do the Zamorak Mage miniquest if you haven't already done so, this gets you 1,000 exp, which gets you from level 1 -> level 9.
